I just got a 2ndhand Pro8, for the camera. As an older woman, I want a robust case (for when I drop it), and there seem to be a few of those around. I also want a hand hold or similar, so I have support for my wrists and don't have to grip it the whole time. I have arthritis, and because it's both bigger and heavier (especially with a robust case...) this is getting more important. But there are fewer choices. Demographically, there will be more customers looking for these features. I'd like to encourage designers, and phone and accesory companies to consider the needs of people with all kinds of technology access issues. And of course for reviewers like Jerad to encourage their development. And Boogins is right about the otterbox.

You can prop the clip open and use it as a kickstand on the otterbox

I went with the Caseology NanoPop after watching this and a few other reviews. I really like the way the case curves up around the camera module to remove the 90-degree edges that might catch on something - not sure if any other cases do that. Also like the textured surface on the lower half of the case's sides to help with grip. Plays nice with my Anker wireless charger. Looking at the fine print on the box, I noticed Caseology is a Spigen brand and the case is made in South Korea.

Does it add much bulk?
@terraXR4 ай бұрын
@@teasley1 One person's bulky is another's slim, and vice-versa. So I'll have to answer this way .... I wasn't looking for a super slim case or a bulkier case where protection is more the point. So from my point of reference, the NanoPop is middle of the road when it comes to thickness/protection.

It's been a while since I had an Otterbox Defender, as they don't make them for Nokias (my two prior phones), but on both my Samsung Galaxy S3 and S5, the belt holster/clip absolutely worked as a kick stand. You pinch it open all the way, it snaps into place and stays in the open position. You can then rotate it to prop the phone up either vertically or horizontally. Maybe that feature has gone away, but it absolutely was present before and I really can't imagine they'd do away with it. Great video, otherwise. Lots of great info.

The thing with MagSafe cases for the Pixel 8 Pro is that the magnets on most cases for this phone are cantered around the G logo on the back while the actual charging coils inside the phone are slightly lover. I have the Torras case, and they have it in the correct place, so it does not cos any extra heat issues while charging wirelessly.

The whole big problem is in the glass, not the back of the phone, because most of the accidents that always happen are the glass breaking

The OtterBox Defender Pro *does* have kickstand functionality. You have to pull the clip all the way out, and it'll snap into place.

I love Speck cases. I have had on on my last 5 or more phones. The Persidio2 is such a grippy case, but it feels soft and smooth in your hand.

Thabks for this video! Can you please show how they look from the front too with the screen on, next time? It would be good to see how thick the cases are in terms of added bezels.

I've been raw doggin it without a case for a couple years on my 3a. Just shattered the top corner yesterday afternoon. Definitely buying a better quality case this time. I took the previous case off my 3a because it would randomly shoot the volume ALL THE WAY up at random points. Happened in the middle of the night the first time playing a KZbin video.

I bought a Peak Design Everyday case and found it extremely difficult to remove without stressing the phone, so I was really interested in watching you remove each case at the end of the trials, but you did not really talk about ease of removal. I use a compact gimbal for video and cases interfere with the clamp so I need to easily remove the case. It seems that the Onyx is one of the easier cases to remove, so I will try one of those.

Those cases that say, Discover innovation underneath the slider are so cheaply built. There’s about 20 different companies on Amazon that sell the same exact case under a different name.

I got a speck case for my s23 ultra and if I squeeze side of the phone my case starts to move and also if I press on the back of the phone it feels like case has a bubble I contacted Speck and they said it should be like that.. I went back to UAG

I’m not gonna lie I was watching this and then when I saw your review on the OtterBox defender series case, not knowing that the clip locks into place to also act as a kickstand truly shows that you know nothing about cases, and I stopped watching…… I mean years and years ago they did this…. And you don’t know about it from a top brand….. that is just terrible and shows your lack of research and experience…..
