Mama Tams
This place was a staple of our trip! We ate here more than anywhere else because the food is so tasty, its really reasonably priced and the portions are generous! Our favourites are Omelet on rice with morning glory for breakfast. They also do the tastiest Pad Thai we’ve eaten on the island. When we wanted a treat we’d go for the Banana & Honey Pancakes.

The Doughnut Place
We call it the doughnut place because the main reason we go there is for the doughnuts. We usually order 6, 3 to have with our meal and 3 to dunk in condensed milk for afters. But get there early in the day or you’ll miss out, they usually sell out by 11.

995 Roasted Duck
We’ve tried most things on the menu here but the duck noodles in soy bean paste and fried noodles were our go to dishes.

This place serves up the best chicken rice and fried morning glory that we’ve had on the island.

BBQ street food
This place is perfect for a small lunch or a snack, they do a variety of BBQ and fried meat. They also sell small bags of sticky nice, don’t forget to ask for the chilli sauce to top it off.

Fruit shakes
There are stalls selling fruit shakes on pretty much every street in Koh Tao, but this is the one we went to most often. The woman here is so generous with the portions, she normally fills up our cup then hands us the left overs in a mug!
Our personal favourite is mango and banana because it is so sweet and surprisingly filling. Plus it’s healthy, the only ingredients are fruit and ice.
