You can get great shots of LA skyline from the top of Ernest Debs regional park! It’s only 5 min hike from the top parking lot! If you know people moving to the area let me know! Glad to help!

Moving to california with my 2 adult sons who graduated form a university in california. Looking for a neighborhood thats easy to commute to Hollywood /Los angeles for work

Nice! How long do you want to commute? I cover areas from Pasadena west to North Hollywood and South to Downtown LA. They look close of a map but commute times vary during rush hour!

Believe it or not, there are perfectly good schools within Pasadena, including Blair High School, which has attained International Baccalaureate status. And "North Arroyo" is actually called Linda Vista.

There is nothing wrong with Pasadena schools however, because the price point of single family homes are usually over $1m now. Homebuyers are picky now and prefer school districts that are more prestigious and high scoring at those prices.

Hi. Thanks for all your info. Been looking at making a move to the LA area from the east coast. I'm a retired female and I can't drive on freeways. There are plenty of alternate roads where I live. Can you recommend an area that would allow me to connect to most of the towns via so called back roads? I was looking at Encino....Ventura Highway, etc. I think I can drive on Ventura. My top speed is between 45 and 50 mph. I also considered Glendale. I can only afford to consider a studio apartment. I was looking at Pasadena but I'm afraid its too expensive for me. Thanks in advance! PS: My hobby is astronomy and astrophotography. It would be nice to be near Griffith, and I also prefer quiet rural areas to big city. I'm also the perfect conscientious tenant if you know of anyone who has a small guest house on their estate for about $1500/mo. I have no pets, don't smoke, quiet as a mouse.

Thanks for the support! If you absolutely have to have a single family or guest house your options are pretty limited… Glendale is a good choice! If you can bump your budget to $2000/month you can consider studio and 1 bed options in Encino, North Hollywood and Studio city!

Recently, there was a 12 year old who was killed by a stray bullet in Pasadena. There was also a hostage situation. All of Los Angeles is just very dangerous since the pandemic. Anyone can be shot and killed at any point.

Unfortunately there will be more crime in any metropolitan city. If safety is top priority I recommend looking into nearby smaller towns La Crescenta, Sierra Madre and Temple City. They have some of the lowest crime rates in USA!
