The proprietary quick release mechanism is a negative in my opinion. Would rather they put an Arca or NATO dovetail on one side of the light if that were possible.

Aputure is loging ground to Zhiyun. I find the Fiveray 20c combo a real steal. im sure this is going to cost 20,000 inr. the Fiveray is at 15,000/- inr. comes with a soft box/a grid/barn doors/app/magnet mount and more compatible as an on camera light.

Always informative, thank you! I do wonder if you had the chance to look over the control grid? And whether you thought it worked? I find it interesting that it mounts under the diffuser as opposed to on top, like the MC Pro. I'd think the diffuser would scatter the light again if you were to use both. Any thoughts?

Maxwell from amaran here! The Kit version of the amaran Ace 25x & 25c come with the grid. We do advise to use the grid without the diffusion for the best effect.

Meh. No kickstand, proprietary mount (no 1/4 20 on the bottom), can't use NPFs, not weather resistant. Pretty disappointing, honestly.

Maxwell from amaran here - The Ace Lock has a 1/4 20 screw thread on the bottom of the cold shoe so you can use it as you choose. The Kit comes with the a tripod to replace your kickstand and has even more uses for handheld work. As for battery life we are the leader at this power range but you can use NPF's with an USB output or USB-C power banks to power and charge this light. Try one out I think you may be surprised.

@@Maxwell_Miranda Hey Maxwell, I know it has a grid option, but any chance you can pass up the chain for a barn door attachment? Perhaps use the 1/4 mount as the anchor point if magnets are too weak or something that clicks on.
