I found that you should only flip all the levers closed after saw in completely closed. For some reason when closing the buttons on each section won't pop up unless the lever is up. It came without any real instructions. Your mileage may vary.

I used a Kobalt pole chain saw today, fully extended and that beast was HEAVY. Battery at the handle but it was really surprisingly heavy when all sections were included. I got out my Fiskars pole saw and was not only surprised at how light it was, but also how easily it made cuts. Now I need something to get high up and make horizontal cuts.

It's amazing how these newer pole saws have become sooooo much more lighter. In the last section of this video you must have seen Stu using the Hasegawa Orchard Ladders. Those are easily our best sellers and my personal favorite too. You can check out more about them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5vIZ4adhdeaaKssi=0ViJkZ7Vo_EQB6VV

Again, fantastic video. I have a few of the. Japanese Silky/Hayate pole saws. They are unparalleled, even compared to the notch. FYI, the difference between the corona and the notch pole saw that you did with the Hayichi blade was actually a 5.5 to one ratio. 42 5.5 times faster than. 232. Unreal the difference. I had the corona. I used it twice and gave it away.

Fantastic video. I'm tempted to purchase the Notch, but noticed it doesn't include a lopper attachment or option to add one (as far as I can tell). In your opinion, should this dissuade me, or is the lopper not really necessary?
@mainstreetmower Жыл бұрын
There is a lopper attachment that fits the Sentei models (black scabbard)(Hayauchi Blade models) 16’ and 21’. It’s hard to find on the Notch/Sherrill tree website but I just found it on Amazon

@Main Street Mower That's good to know, thanks. Curious, if it's you, do you sacrifice on the blade to have the option to add a lopper attachment, or opt for that Hayate blade instead?
@mikesmith7784 Жыл бұрын
You don't need a lopper attachment all you need is a recipitating saw or a jigsaw to attach to the end of the pole with a long blade. It works perfect and easier and much faster

@@mainstreetmower The Notch pole is too pricey for us for home use. Are there any other pulley pole loppers that you can recommend?
@sofjanmustopoh72328 ай бұрын
@@brainblownc570Corona or Fiskars . For manual pole saw . They are more flexible. So just take your time . 1 stroke at a time . DONOT try to power thru the sawing action . The flexible pole would waste your energy. Corona and Fiskars are 1/3 the price of notch and Silky . If your tree is not more than 12-15 foot high . There are many electric pole saw that will work . A little front heavy but will work . Kobalt , dewalt , worX etc etc has one . Again becareful . Come at a more horizontal position so the saw is Not PINCHED. And the limb do not fall on you and hurt you . Good luck
@sofjanmustopoh72328 ай бұрын
Many homeowner or property owner cannot justify the $300+ Silky or Notch manual pole saw . Yes it only take 2 trimming cost by pro to pay off the purchase price . Corona , Fiskars has the manual pole saw . But the pole is flexible . Especially they are round shape . Not oval like silky or notch . Just take your time . One stroke at a time. Do not power speed thru the sawing motion . You will just waste the energy in flexing the pole . Try move as far away horizontally. So the saw blade don’t get pinched. For shorter trees . Those power pole saw by dewalt , kobalt , worX etc etc are also an option. Stay safe wear safety glasses to avoid saw dust in your eyes . Stay away horizontally as far as you can on the side to prevent limb falling on you and sending you to ER . Be careful be safe . My Corona long pole saw has paid itself many times over in 11 years . If I have bought the silky saw . It would also have paid off for me in 11 years worth of rental properties maintenance . And save me from aggravation and finish the pruning job faster 😄. But it is very hard to justify a $ 300 plus silky or notch saw Vs $100 plus corona or Fiskars pole saw. Even tho yg silky or notch can work in 1/2 the time . Or even 1/3 the time . Unless you are doing it professionally and getting paid by jobs Great video

I stay in South Florida and harvest coconuts, so I’m looking for a good pruning stick for the palm trees. Thank in advance for your advice

The best pole saw I've used isn't produced anymore. It was first introduced as the Sherilltree Stealth, then the Notch Stealth. 23' extended carbon composite poles with Hayate blade. It's stiffer, lighter, and easier to use than the aluminum poles. Berger makes a comparable pole saw.

The Stihl PP800 pole and PS80 blade are made in Japan (like the Silky) by ARS; the blade is every bit as sharp as any Silky. Nobody makes saws better than the Japanese. If you look up ARS components, you'll find that these Stihl components are identical to the ARS pole SC-EXP55 and blade UV-40-1. Generally the Stihl versions are a much better deal as well. Incidentally, I have a Silky Zubat and a Samurai Ichiban; the Ichiban cuts every bit as good as the Zubat, and is a lot cheaper. Also, while using both in a residential setting, I chipped two teeth off the Zubat; this has never happened with the Ichiban.

Here's the very best way to do it if it's really high up and it's the cheapest and it works excellent. All you need is a telescopic pole Any pole even rebar any long 20 to 30 foot pole and attach a precipitating saw or even a jig saw with a very long wood blade and attach it at the end of pole or whatever and use a zip tie or tape to hold it together. Use a zip tie for your trigger attached to a rope. Along with a long extension cord to reach your plug. It works great. I know I've done it about 25 foot.
