People get way too obsessed with trimming tags. If the fish either didnt see or didnt care about the rest of your line, its not going to care about an eighth of an inch left over at your knot. And if you didnt quite tie right and your knot slips a bit on that first hookset, itll likely give enought leeway for the knot to tighten instead of unraveling.

Keep the top of the fluke below the eye of the hook, not covering your knot. You get better action when it’s not threaded so far up
@JVBfishingАй бұрын
The reason I thread it on that far is so it won't rip off as easily.

You can use these in the bay and along the coast too. My best have been either solid white or chartreuse. They have caught flounder, halibut, sand and kelp bass, various small sharks, and the occasional very annoying bat ray.

@@JVBfishing Lol. I fished around San Diego bay in small boats and kayaks and wading out in the surf. Occasionally jetties. Loads of fun. These are definitely multi species lures. They were not my only lure or bait, but were a big part of my arsenal.

@@JVBfishing Oh, and for the guys saying dont trim. I always trimmed. Yes a knot can slip, but that almost never happens if you tie it right and pull it tight. A big tag line sticking out looks un-natural to a fish.

You should use a leader, fish see braid very easily, also the hook is buried to far in the plastic, you could miss a fish because there has to be so much pressure there.

@@Billy_bob_420 A stick?
@Billy_bob_4203 ай бұрын
@JVBfishing yup a stick unless you want to use your hands but its hard to tigten down fully without cutting yourself unless you use a stick. you will see the knot color change to a dark color and you almost cant see the wraps its so tight, when you really rip on it with the stick and it will be sealed forever until you cut it. Iv used it and have never lost a hook to a huge catfish without my line breaking in the middle.
