I had the Serene Life air conditioner for about a week. It does cool the room - very slowly. But it's loud. It sounds like a small airplane engine. We couldn't listen to a TV in the same room because it was so loud.

Walmart has a MUCH BETTER selection as well as easy return for warranty, which you should ABSOLUTELY get. Normally, I ignore extended warranties, but for these types of A/C units, I think it's a good purchase. Most of these on this list are around $50 bucks cheaper than Amazon (probably from shipping costs). I am in the process of buy 3 of these units as well as a 13,000 Watt Generator from Harbor Freight. I spent 5 days without power during Hurricane Beryl, yeah, I am not going through that again. Also, placing the “Eco flow” on this list is a FREAKING JOKE, unless you just hate money.

These days , window shaker ACs are cheap enough , just put one in your window , and be done with it . Portables , are really not all that portable , in practice . Just sayin

Lots of condos and apartments you are not allowed to have window units. As well, like myself. My office I use it in during the day and then in the night I want to bring it into my bedroom. I can’t do that with a window unit. 😊

The Midea Duo is designed to prevent rain from entering the unit. As long as the unit is properly installed with the window kit and the hoses are secured, rain should not be able to enter the unit.

If you ask me, none of them work worth a crap. I have had two of these from different manufacturers, and they both poop the breaker if the outside temp gets around 100 degrees. Total junk if you ask me. Get a good window unit instead.

@thepaywindow I had a Shinco 11500 BTU, and I don't remember the first one I bought, I just bought a saddle unit that fits in the window, I live in Arizona in a RV and keeps me comfortable even 100+ temps. My saddle unit is made by Soleus Air.

Midea duo works amazing never pops my breaker even over 100 cools excellent I can get it 62 in a room on a day that’s 98 outside and is extremely quiet.
