Great review, thanks Jonathan. In watching reviews of the Voltra, which can get to 200# but at $2k vs $500 for 44#, there appears to be a market for those on the go or those with less space. As this market proves itself, there will likely be new products that will improve capacity, durability, and lower costs. This may even drive the traditional gym equipment prices lower and drive compactness. Big wins for the consumer!
@NoFate2474 ай бұрын
Yeah if I buy two for $500 you can get up to 88 lbs. I agree that competition is always good for the consumer

Yeah I could see it useful to some folks, but if I needed something like this traveling or in a pinch I would just use my TRX straps or my resistance bands kit.

Definitely can see a use for someone who travels a lot but definitely not something that can replace a home gym. I usually just bring some bands when I travel and do lighter workouts that way.

What do you think of using it to add profiled resistance to freeweights/weight stacks? Coop mentioned the Voltra could be awkward in pairs due to lack of sync. Does this have a similar issue? Ideally would like to add resistance profile to bench.
@NoFate247Ай бұрын
I think by themselves the pairs work fine and while not synced they are close. Not sure about adding them for profiled resistance. I think you would be disappointed

It's great that they included a travel case to throw in your luggage. 44 pounds is enough for unilateral movements like delt raises, curls, tricep push downs, and single arm flys when attached to a door. It's a great way to squeeze in some work when traveling. I agree. It doesn't market itself as a home gym replacement, and nobody should consider it as one. But, it does live up to what it promises, and if you know how to use it, it can be an effective way to put in work when visiting Grandma's over the holidays.

I think for an add on to a rack, it will do a lot for functional trainer movements. People don’t need 300lbs for lateral raises. 44lbs is touch though. Good and fair review bud! I wish you could just adjust the weight and modes on the device. It’s the reason I think the Voltra is the best direct drive system. The price is tough for most people though.

Yeah voltra seems great minus the 2k price tag.

This is a rebranded unigo product. I think its called the pump. Gluck did a review on it. It's not a great value proposition but its a startup. They have teased a pro model that would be pretty competitive with the Voltra - but no additional details since.
