Ok, it should go without saying but attacking folks or being disrespectful of their opinion just because they don't agree with your favorite album/music is childish. Let's be civil here, people. This is a space to discuss the music you love and enjoy. Everyone has different tastes. There's no need to mock anyone. Tell us what you enjoy but don't be petty. I don't know why but some Lovebites fans are the only people to have been cruel here since my channel's inception. They are a talented band but Judgement Day is not in my Top 5 Picks, nor many others. Get over it.

Wish I liked the new Lovebites like everyone else is. The brickwall production/mixing really makes me struggle with it. I think the best power metal album released this year is Silver Bullet's Shadowfall, at any rate.

Which brings the question, how do you keep up with what's been released every month? Is it through the album label, bands themselves, streaming services? LOVEBITES - Judgement Day IS the best power metal album of february 2023 if not maybe the best power metal album / band of 2023, I can already tell you ! And sorry but DELAIN is absolutely not a power metal band, nothing to do in this list in my opinion :-)

Not sure why people keep hating on Delain for "not being power metal or heavy metal" when metal reviewers/journalists have been praising the new album. Power and Symphonic Metal have little difference and share many of the same traits. I don't get caught up in endless subgenres. Power Metal is an all encompassing genre with many Symphonic, Thrash, Speed, Progressive, and Heavy Metal elements. With your logic, Lovebites wouldn't even be strictly considered "Power Metal" since they often experiment with many different elements throughout their songs.

@@PowerMetalRanger I disagree. Delain is not a power metal band. And for your information I am a big fan of Delain. Hum, I was... (Charlotte era until Moonbathers, the masterpiece of the band for me). It is a good band, don't get me wrong, but the title of your video is "best power metal band of february", I will not be the only one being shocked discovering Delain in that list stealing the place of a true power metal band. Lovebites experiment other genres yes, but unlike Delain they are MAINLY a power metal band, what you will notice listening to their new album.

@@ericdraven3666 I could make the title Best Power, Symphonic, Thrash, Progressive, Folk, Speed, Electronic, AOR, and Heavy Metal Of February 2023 but I feel, personally, that would be a bit redundant listing every element present in modern day Power Metal. It's a constantly evolving genre. Sure, some folks may fall out of their chairs but I think most would not be surprised by Delain's inclusion in this list. However, I truly do apologize that you feel misled by my video. That's never my intention and the last thing I want is for folks to feel like they were "baited" into a video or anything. I do my best to be as upfront and transparent with my viewers as possible.

I understand, don't get me wrong man, I am not blaming you even if I don't use emojis lol, just giving my opinion :-) But I would rather say that heavy metal is an all encompassing genre with many subgenres. Power metal is for me one of them :-)

I actually listened to 3 of your five picks this time! Elyose, Delain, and Rexoria! Of those I would give my favorite to Delain (if it was actually Power Metal) Hmm, nevermind I will give it to Delain because that album rocks and I agree it fits nicely withing the Power Metal Genre!

Much respect for Power Metal Ranger and his work. I have developed a greater appreciation for what he does because I just spent the last 5 hours checking out every single album in his list, all 30 of them. @@PowerMetalRanger I've realized I've made a horrendous error. For some reason I had the Wig Wam album marked down for release in May!! 😮😮So my list is most likely wrong. Haha yeah, I'm not a huge Godsmack fan. I always feel like I should listen to albums by Godsmack, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica and Five Finger Death Punch because they are my brothers favorite bands. This album was pretty poor, hence last place on my list, although I wish I'd put the Lovebites album in last place now 🤣 I'm a tiny but surprised the Xandria album didn't make your top 5. Not cos it was mind-blowing or anything, but I just felt like it would be down your alley. Was cool that you, me and Hanne all picked Ascension as our top album. I think that confirms beyond all doubt that it IS in fact The Best!!

Here we are again. Already 2 months past of the not so new year. I agree to Iron Ollie, January was awesome, February I don't even have an album to be in my top anything (though, didn't yet listen to Delain nor Xandria - will hopefully see them live soon). And - other than pretty much everyone else here - was rather disappointet with Rexoria. Singles were promising but the album just didn't work for me. As for the songs: Illumishade - Hymn (Illumishade the main reason why I want to go to see Delain and Xandria) Ad Infinitum - From The Ashes (though not such a bummer as the previous singles, still, looking forward to the albums) Chvrches - Over (a little off-channel but what can I say, I just love them) Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall - "Far From Home" ft. James Robledo (saw this by accident and liked it a lot) Redemption - Remember the Dawn

Delain's brand of symphonic metal has, at least by my ears, oftentimes flirted with progressive metal and power metal dynamics. I wouldn't call this new album power metal either, but PMR's interpretation is still valid.
