8 lakhs is not simple and even l&t doesn't pay that. Many civil engineers start with 10k and for good companies 18k and for l&t its 35 etc; but no package more than 4 lakhs.

Guys, get a job in IT. Civil engineers in India are usually exploited. There are many good things but believe me you'll regret the decision of doing BE Civil. I'm fortunate to have a good job but most of my friends aren't that fortunate enough. Computer science people have gone to 8LPA while Civil engineers still get only 4LPA even after 3 years of experience.
