Top warlock players already complained about the "S" rank of affliction based on beta. Seeing multiple rank 1 or even blizzcon champions struggling with their warlock to climb the ladder and even talking bad about it on stream and telling everyone not to play it makes me even wonder about the "A" rank 😂. Even chanimals' always positive and happy mood stream ended with lots of rage about the class today 😂😂 Affliction has so many issues. Yeah you have a lot of kiting tools. But failing one and you instantly die to everything. The dmg people see by looking on their details sais nothing about how good a class is when all you do is dot dmg to everyone that can easily be dealt with by hots. The only way to kill someone is by free casting malific rapture. But you need dots on the target to be make it deal dmg. Dots can be dispelled and affliction has such a big global issue putting up all the dots in arena not even being able to cast malific rapture cause you are busy putting your dots up on the targets again or you are busy running the whole time cause every melee can kill you in one stun lock. On top of that affliction is the only caster in the game that can't cast any other of their spells when being kicked. You can't fear to help you or your teammates. You can't deal any dmg, use wall or interrupt someone. Even an arcane mage that is said to be weak cause of one school of magic can still use ice block as a defense. Affliction has so many issues that aren't mentioned here.

Affliction is highly skillcapped and every mistake will get you killed. At the same time the overtuned classes are those that counter you heavily - atm affliction is definitly not A Tier. In comparision to other specs the effort reward ratio for affliction is just bad. Hearing things like "lEaRn tO aDoPt" and "Trust me" in this video even shows how badly wrong they are again, as they predicted affliction in S-Tier in the Pre-Shadowlands Tier-List.

@Monotone Kev Ele Shaman are S tier casters, they're very disruptive and work great with Warlocks. People will always train warlocks though, that's just something you need to learn but a free casting ele is really good. The alternative is also a fire mage I think.

@@zmcglosson well yes, because arcane is the better 1v1 spec. Fire is just better right now because you're not playing 1v1 in arena. and fire can setup better while bursting better (all instants for bursting so can't be kicked). Arcane can survive and kite a lot better and in a 1v1 is heavily favored because all the defensives it has. plus you're playing vs 1 kick only so in 1v1 so it's easier to fake. that means that your burst is safe-er when that kick is down.

7:05 one week before this 5% nerf, MM hunters also received a 50% dmg nerf on the second Double Tap hit when it's used with Aimed Shot + 10% dmg nerfs for Aimed Shot when used in pvp. So yes the MM burst is a lot weaker than it was after the launch.

I easily hit 1900 as demo in BFA with random scrubs in LFG (and I am not a great player). It's just usually played very, VERY wrong. You have 2 instant stuns, an instant fear, fear, and most of your damage can be cast instantly. A demo lock with a very bursty class can easily land kills or do very well in BG's. I wouldn't call it an S tier, but it's tanky with 20% damage reduction indefinitely (shared with pet). That said.. right now is all about nuking people in a global or two, and it's not going to be a solid pick. No warlock spec is right now.

Demo gets slept on. 2 instant stuns and tons of instant casts and 20% damage reduction at all times... + hp % trinket with lock rocks and kyrian vial... you can instantly heal 85% of your hp. The only thing is its lack luster dps. No real major burst so it needs to be played with either a very tanky healer or a bursty dps. :) to secure kills

Demonology has been in the gutter since TBC. When was the last time demonology was ever good at anything? I’ve got a solution, just let the warlock have all the pets permanently. Let them be the true summoning class. Let them be like witch doctors and necromancers in D3. What’s the point of summoning your pets just so they can last a few seconds and disappear? All they do is summon their pets over and over. They don’t last long enough to do any real damage. Allow the warlock to utilize and control each pet and what it attacks. My biggest issue with demonology is that you can’t control what your pets do or attack except for your main pet. They’ll scatter and attack random sh*t. That’s why their dps sucks not only in PvP but PvE. Demonology needs a complete re-haul.

I think it’s a l2p issue, not trying to be mean Casters don’t see plays in the beginning of the xpac until haste stacking becomes a thing later. But this is one of the few expansions that isn’t the case, showing how good casters are currently compared to previous expansions.

They could double the amount of heals my druid has and I would still die instantly sometimes, but if they doubled resto healing it would still be insanely OP outside of burst windows. It's that time outside of burst cool downs where Spriest healing is OP.
