Being a wheelchair user, I don't get to experience many of these queues. I love when people film when they're in line so I can see just how much amazing work went into them. I love when I get to go through the full regular line instead of the exits (although some exits are pretty awesome too).

As a wheelchair user as well, I liked going the other way to Indiana Jones, (I still ride a BUNCH of rides) I really loved going on the elevator and how it seemed all the queue was deserted and abandoned!

there is a company online that sells Disney inspired candle fragrances (spireside.com) and one of them is call The Black Pearl, and it is the smell of musty water when you enter the Pirates building.

The queues at Disneyland are a huge reason as to why I hold the park in such high regards. THE THEMING! At Magic Mountain, their queues are half-assed and boring compared to Disney. All they give you to look at are televisions that just loop the same commercials and Looney Tune cartoons all day. But I guess you are paying more for the thrills there as opposed to the experience that Disneyland gives.

We missed the Disneyland queue for Pirates when we went to WDW and made our way through the WDW queue. Disneyland's queue seems so personal or something, you know? Once you make it into the building and BAM there's the water and the boats right in your face, and you follow the boats around to where you board. Love it.

The smell of propane fumes as you cross over the track in Indy is also another one of my favorite smells. You know when you smell it that you are almost ready to embark upon an epic journey-with FIRE!

About 6 months ago I actually ran into Tony Baxter in the park near Small World. I was so star struck I barely knew what to say, but since he was with someone that was probably a good thing since I didn’t take much of his time. I was basically just one step down from meeting Walt himself in the park. Something I’ll never forget.

I personally love the queue for Space Mountain, though that may just be because it's my favorite ride in the park! Just walking up the ramp and into the building gets me pumped up for the ride. I love the iconic "radio conversations" you hear throughout it too.

Totally agree. The best queues, like Haunted Mansion or Indiana Jones, feel like your already on the ride. Getting into the Doom-buggy or EMVs feels almost like icing on the cake!

You nailed it David! I have never been on the Winnie the Pooh ride so I can't say much for that queue but my all time favorite is definitely Indiana Jones! It is creepy and dark and so full of details that it makes it worth the wait the ride has sometimes! I only wish you had included the music that is played in the Jungle Cruise line as part of the awesome theming. It really sets the time period! Loved it! Great video!

I agree with everything you said about Splash Mountain. It is my fave for both aesthetic reasons & for how it seems to alter one's perception - it doesn't seem as much of a wait as compared to the rides that are separated by mere fencing (like Storybookland, Matterhorn, etc). You are spot on in that it truly feels like you are going through a mountain & THAT'S the magic Disneyland is expert at :) Can't believe I never noticed this video until now! 2015? Evidently I gotta binge watch more Fresh Baked!

Great production with great insights! I would add the queue for Soaring in DCA, because of its well thought out flying theme, as well as the queue/waiting area for Mr. Lincoln, which is just loaded with Disney treasures!

Couldn't agree more with this list, though I have to say that alongside Pirates, Indiana Jones has a pretty iconic smell in the indoor portion of the queue. That smell, for me at least, is really one of those things that drives home the fact that I'm at Disneyland.

God, I'm in LOVE with Disney. It's personally one of my favorites because of the beauty and detail that shines through not only the ride itself, but the queue. And if you ask me, the queue is almost the most important part. It's like reading a good story. A good book just doesn't SKIP to the conflict/climax of the story. The rising action of a story is important to set up the story and give background, and Disney is the best at that. The audience can fully emerge into the story and believe the illusions due to great detail and story going into every sculpture, brushstroke, and structure. I'm a HUGE nerd for Disney parks and that's a HUGE reason why. ((Bonus: drinking game! Take two or three shots every time I say "story" lol XD)

Great topic! I disagree with Pirates though. One of my top 3 rides, but not top 10 for queue. Space Mountain would be in my top 10. Nothing takes me back to 70s space like Space Mountain. I feel like I am going on Star Wars even though its not themed specificly as Star Wars.

I don't know about you, but if you guys ever been to Disneyworld, I freakin' love the queue for Nemo's Undersea adventure. It's calming and I just love how the light is this calm sunset orange along with the blue queue~ Also the darkness just really makes you feel like you're going underwater deeper and deeper. On Disneyland, I don't really have a favorite queue, since I haven't ridden many rides there, but from your videos it's gotta be Haunted Mansion.

I totally agree!!! The queue is so nice, especially when it's really hot and you enter the building into the beach space. I'm already really sad I don't get to look at the signs in that section more because they are super funny. I also really love the queue for Mine Train. At Disneyland, I LOVED the queue for Indiana Jones and Rodger Rabbit. I was kinda sad I got a fastpass for Indy which didn't let me see it fully.

I agree with most of your list but I would add Peter Pan's Flight. It's not particularly interesting but it holds the most nostalgia for me. The music makes it for me. I wouldn't have Roger Rabbit on the list, but only because I don't really like that ride. Great job Dave!

I know that this was a list for Disneyland, although the recent Grizzly River Run should be included. The mist that peaks through the light, with the fierce rumbling of the geysers just makes you feel like you are about to disembark on a journey of epic proportions. Not to mention the buckets that warn you, that you will get wet. Also, Haunted Mansion needed to be number 1! Que/ Show, wrapped into history.

I think my favorite is also Indiana Jones. I went on it for the first time this summer and we had a fast pass plus we went at 11:30pm so there was almost no line and I actually stopped a few times to look around at everything within the queue. I also love thunder mountain, pirates, and haunted mansion. Definitely my top 4. I think haunted mansion might actually be my favorite. I hate being In any type of evaluator and anything paranormal but I absolutely love that ride & queue

For me, Haunted Mansion is my favorite queue. The queue feels like it's literally part of the ride while the others feel like a queue. Indiana Jones is a really close second though!

You can buy a scent called Dark Ride by Xyrena. Its pretty close to that familiar Pirates of the Caribbean scent and cool way to have DIsneyland in your house!

My favorite queue is the Holiday Small World at night. We went last Saturday night and the overlay projected show on the building is just breathtaking. Not of fan at all of the Roger Rabbit or Indiana Jones queues (or rides) but 100% agree on Splash Mountain. Great video! Jane

David, when you brought up Pirates of the Caribbean I thought you would include some detail about the extremely long but extremely immersive left queue that really puts you into the New Orleans spirit and you really feel like your in that time and place. I would also like to give an honorable mention to Space mountain (inside only) because It extremely immersive with the theming and mind control air conditioning. Also a question for you David, will you be making another video of top 5 queues in DCA? I only say top 5 because there is only 5 good queues in DCA, but just wondering.

+FreshBakedDisney For me, it's Space Mountain, especially before you enter the building. You can't really rest on anything other than the floor, and there's hardly any theming outside unless you like looking at the mountain. It gets hot since the shade is meh. It doesn't help that the wait is long, but I do like the interior of the building. The line goes by fast at that point and the spaceship is cool.
