Love the satire. I think the Eruptor is ironically pretty balanced. It has significant pros but it also has significant cons to act as balance. It has very slow sway, it's single shot bolt action, slow bullet speed, 5 rd mag and it cant be used up close. Its very good and fun to use. Solid "A Tier." But I dont think its broken/OP.

I'm a sucker for good satire (I mean, I guess that's not surprising for a fan of Hell Divers 2), but this video is so fucking good: It has clear commentary that progressively escalates, It's criticizing the subject without coming across as mean spirited, It's legitimately helpful in it stated goal as a guide (without even using the cheap shot of a Clickbait title), and the fucking voice 😭😭😭 I had to leave a comment because I was so impressed. I find eruptor/senator/railgun to ne very effective. Eruptor kills groups, mediums, and tanks very well while railgun is a hulk deleting machine. Senator is great for stray bots

I find the massive aoe can be used to save your life. Jetpack on cooldown? Dive and then shoot at your feet, you have to do it just right but you can slide like 40 feet lol Possibly requires light armor

Jar 5 is best for bugs to me (fire shotgun doesn’t do enough damage and runs out of ammo quick) and the Eruptor is best for bots. You can put the quasar with it and go on a rampage.

Seems like it would pair perfectly with the Quasar. Against Bots, the Quasar is basically a must because of how it can no scope the turrets from any range even through their frontal armor with just two shots. Same for the tanks, factories and other stuff that you would normally need a Stratagem to deal with. Anything that the Eruptor can't easily kill can be killed by the Quasar. And if shit gets too close, draw your SMG.

I tested this, it leaves you really vulnerable to being swarmed, I created this exact loadout using my own testing, and found significantly more success with the arc thrower

So that is what I run for both bugs and bots. What I use to prevent swarms is the rover and the redeemer. On bugs you might also take a Gatling sentey but those are really useful for bugs no matter what else you are using anyway.

@@__Razer true, but honestly I've found against bots you can run your pistol for most light stuff, and use the quasar for super heavy things while leaving the Eruptor for medium things. Bots don't tend to horde as badly as bugs

my personal build with Eruptor: arc thrower, shield backpack, EAT (for flying enemies/ dropship), and 1 of the 3 (eagle airstrike/ 500 kg/ orbital laser). + stun grenade and grenade pistol. Give it a try, it's pretty good.

Lmao the people whining about arc thrower. It’s literally a skill issue. That weapon has been glued to nearly all my load outs. I ran it with a random that had the same load out and not one team member died during our 3 mission liberation. It just takes practice.

NOTE to helldivers. These new weapons have 0 clearing power. Co-ordinate loadouts. I was going full clearing power. Stalwart and dominator combo. That did not help when everyone did granade pistol and eruptor.

Eruptor is basically a primary auto cannon which is nice. I run eagle 500kg, eagle airstrike, shield backpack and quasar cannon.

I just can't click with the eruptor. I tried to get comfortable with it but I just hate it. If it didn't have a max range of 120m then maybe but that combined with all of its other issues just makes it a no go for me. Having a weapon that I hate but other people love is a good sign as long as they can bring the others up so there's something for everyone.

I tend to move more than my teammates to reach objectives instead of dying on a hill so this weapon has been perfect as I can face enemies from a good distance as I approach poi/obj and support my teammates as I tend to flank the bots facing them. Being able to shoot down factories and devastators has made me let go of the autocannon and take a shield pack + laser canon. I think it is balanced because it has the worst handling, is least usable up close, fire rate forces you to have good movement and accuracy. I just want a tweak to make it more consistent cause I swear I can shoot a Gatling Devastator on the shoulder and 1-3 shot it based on luck

I cant let go of the AC for this, specially for missions with gunships. AC can 2shot them without having to reload, that support is just too good for me to drop.

The heat sinks on hulks are actually not a critical weak spot -- just unarmored. Hitting the face after a stun grenades will usually be your best option.

You can but it will not damage them, you'll need a support weapon to take them out.

Yup, this vid is pretty much my thoughts and builds exactly, except I still run the personal shield instead of the ems mortar. I love running the arc thrower, especially post-buffs (infantry = no chance), but more often than not I pack the laser cannon cuz I need an answer to those damn gunships. I've dropped into a couple missions where no one had an answer and holy crap did those missions get miserable real quick.

I don't think it's overpowered, but the eruptor is a blast! My bot build is eruptor, sidearm smg, stun grenades, spear, and I rotate my 3 other strats between orbital laser, eagle airstrike, 500kg, orbital rail and ems mortar. Spear is honestly such a fun weapon for bots. Handles gunships like a dream, long range destruction of bases and tower turrets is nice and occasionally being able to destroy the stratagem blocker before you're within range is icing on the cake. My buddy typically brings supply pack to keep me topped uo, and punisher to protect the close range. So fun.

I really like it as a sniper/support. That’s the role I’ve been tending to play against Bots lately. It actually feels like it packs a pretty good punch so it’s better than the marksmen rifles. You have to get used to leading a lot since the projectile is slow though, and the super slow fire rate and 5 shot capacity also hurts it. I like to wear the Scout armor so if you maintain long range they usually won’t detect you or even fire back if your teammates are closer and look like better targets. Most times I carry a grenade launcher with it because if they do start to swarm towards me that can usually take out large groups of soft targets fast. Leaves you a bit open up close but you really just have to make sure you maintain range. Take out the closest few with a redeemer and run to a better position.

I paired this with the AMR sniper and stun grenades for some great long range advantage, and sometimes I'll hip fire or use third person aiming to kill berserkers. And ever since it got buffed, two shotting hulk's red eye and long range crowd control with the eruptor, makes it oddly satisfying combo. I also pair this sometimes with the Senator or redeemer combined with the ballistic shield, as a back up for close range enemies or tanking blaster fire and aiming for headshots.

Counterintuitively, shoot the flying bots in the search light instead of the thruster like every other anti-air weapon. I don't know why, but it one shots them very often.

Ok real talk tho super enjoying using Eruptor + Antimaterial + Redeemer + Jetpack +orbitals/eagles of choice. During the bolt action animation swap to Antimaterial, then back. You’re able to conserve a ton of ammo for both guns by not doing as much overkill, maintain distance + positioning w Jetpack and use Eruptor and bombs for objectives. Stun grenades for Hulks etc, or if you manage to get caught with your pants down. You can’t stun yourself! Throw at your feet and jetpack away!
