I sold my Redline 360C to get the Union R8, I love it so far I can customize it I can just plug it into my computer and do all of my setting. The Redline 360C use to be a great radar detector and it still is but they are lacking with Escort is not keeping up with the firmwares.

redline is in the business of selling hardware not giving updates thats a flaw . They want to rebuy your old one and want to buy a new one every time .I don't know who gave them the fking business idea that someone takes time to rip of their cars every time and install a new system .. fk them

Always go to court, always request for documentation of when the radar was last calibrated

@@SeanPannella maybe if it happens next time. This time i was 1000% speeding lol. 33 over (but it was an empty road so the officer didn't give reckless)

@@zacharyyelding8875 funny enough when i went to court, there was a girl who tried to fight it and ive never felt so much second hand embarrassment in my life.😂 She even said "OBJECTION!" during the prosecutors testimony and the judge just looked so disappointed. She just didn't know how court worksvso i suggest if anyone DOES fight, learn the procedures at the very least.

I would recommend saving for the Uniden R3 instead of going for the DFR7, the R3 provides way more value. Only situation I would use a DFR7 for is if you're on really tight budget and located in CA. The R7 is also a very good detector, close if not better than the Valentine one G2. If you're very focused on range but can't afford a R8, I would go for a R4.

thanks for your analysis. let's say the 360c has it's updates and is running as it should. let's say the Uniden R8 and Valentine V1 Gen 2 are also working as they should - bc I can put up with the time it might take to work out the kinks - and let's say you had a Porsche. which are you putting in?

Uniden R8 - Hands down. Now, if you don’t care about using Bluetooth to access your phone and use the R8 Companion app while driving, then a R7 is just as good. The R7 is essentially the R8 without WiFi and minor cosmetic changes and it’s cheaper.

I have both Escort Redline 360c and Uniden R8. I was a fan boy for escort radars. Had a escort passport and it was amazing. So i bought redline 360c which was amazing worked out the box no issues. After i did an update my Escort has been annoyance. Redline 360c does not properly ramp up anymore. I do get the distance i use to get with it. My arrows dont work at all. I notified eacort and was just told engineers are worling on it. They made update supposedly to fix arrows and i still dont have arrows. Only in the forward direction

They did another update and fixes problems. Mine works fine now. Arrows sound all works now. This is there3rd update it removes the 2nd update and installs the third, which fixes it.

Be careful with updates on Escorts especially if the detector is out of warranty coverage. They won't fix what they broke on my RL360c unless I pay.

I have a Redline 360c I'm going to get rid of. Escort takes no responsibility when a firmware update bricks features like side and rear arrows especially after the warranty period expires. That is one of the main reasons why I bought this detector. Their solution is for me to pay to fix what their update broke. I won't spend a cent more with this company and their "customer service". I DO NOT recommend Escort or their other brand Cobra (Cincinnati Microwave).

Now with the uniden r8 detector it gives an option for a radar detector as well…. Is that something that’s needed?

The DFR7 is ancient technology and should not be considered unless you find it at a garage sale. The Redline is a good detector but recently buggy updates has made it unreliable and IMHO it’s under performing and over priced. Unidens R4 doesn’t have front and rear receivers but its performance is spectacular. If it chirps, You slow down. And the V1 has auto lock outs with a number of second party phone apps including low speed muting, ticket heat maps, aircraft alerts and Waze integration. The Radenso is worth considering but they burned people years ago by suspending FW updates (End of Life) on their older detectors and never brought to market promises of a new detector that would have been a true game changer. All the newer unidens will detect the newer low power radar guns and warn when in the proximity of speed and red light cameras. And will work with second party phone apps to enhance their performance.
