J-Hope was doing the whistling. Hope's verses in this song is to Army bc he will be going into military soon, while Cole's verses was him contemplating whether to retire or not. I read that the jackets they're wearing are from the time of Hope's dancing days in the streets years earlier. The lil boy represents Hope as a young boy and the flowers is like Hope saying farewell for now to Army. Also Hope on the ground walking to meet up with Cole on top of building represent where Hope started and now up to the level he got to to meet his icon. Great Reaction. Thanks. JHope has always been inspired by J Cole and has looked up to him since he was young. The title of his first mixtape is inspired by Cole World....His mixtape is Hope World. JHope used to do a lot of vlives where he would practice freestyle dancing/street dancing, which is how he got his start in music. Those lives were called Hope On the Street. He has recently said that he'd like to get back to doing those again. Of course, as others have said, this song is his goodbye gift to ARMYs as he is enlisting quite soon. It's very comforting to me as I think he seems very at peace with himself and his life and that's truly all we as fans can ask for.

kinda wild that jhope is literally switching languages each line and it still rhymes. J-hope been telling us since 2013 about J.Cole.. so he composed the music do the whistle part and the hook of the song and let’s his idol spits 32 bars, that’s how much respect he got for him. Why he was dancing during Cole's verse is because j-hope before BTS used to dance to J.Cole songs back in the day.
