Because of your Videos i realy start to like the Indonesian language so that a learnt a couple of words an phrases. The last month i was working on a new build Cruiseship and a couple of Crewmembers where from Indonesia so it came in handy and there were suprised that a german Guy could speak at least a couple of words. This was so fun to watch. I think the best quality is that you are just in the moment. Some ladies ask you to dance so you run over to dance (which is always good advice. when a lady asks you to dance, you dance.). Everyone was so friendly and vibrant.

Ryan, unfortunately, you get caught up in the moment which leads you to tell people where you're staying, your itinerary, that you're traveling alone when you should say traveling with friends, and you flaunt your money. Don't strive to be a victim when traveling. There are bad people all over the world, no matter how nice a person seems.

If you meant the second conversation, he did not mention in details and it’s very common locals ask that questions, and it’s up to you to answer in Details or fake answers. You’ll be shocked if you know more about Indonesians. It’s called basa basi…. A short hi…and He made this video for a purpose of interaction with locals and demstrating his languange ability. Not just looking around and sight seeing. If you do not want to answer, just say no. People will not approach you and they will keep away from unfriendly foreigners.

That "untuk" from "for" in English (in feet massage), is not always the same usage in Indonesian. Basically, it's not always/letter-lux as "for" like in English. The important is: Always greet/call someone who looks older than you (like Batik shop owner, security, etc): Ibu/Bu or Bapak/Pak for male, not "kamu", except those whose younger or already have become your friends.

I already learn bahasa Indonesia FOR a year. The word "for" in the sentence should be translated as SELAMA, not UNTUK. Aku sudah belajar bahasa Indonesia SELAMA satu tahun.
