Great video. For me and my 80, I am all about rear clearance, with the factory rear chassis support it does put the rear bar if a straight bolt on farther out, which reduces your departure angle! This may not be an issue for those not rock crawling or doing deep wash outs which I do regularly in high country braided rivers! For me, I'm currently torn between 4x4 labs and TCC, as they have a "new" high clearance integrated rear hitch bar out on the market, it does require removal of the rear cross support, which I prefer anyways as it would with the 4x4labs design, this pulls in the rear bar a bit more for extra clearance and DPA, which imo/e you can never have enough, unless you drive a SWB. Those few inches can make a huge difference, if just overlanding with heaps of gear it may not matter! But for me it does, 80s are a big girl even with good departure, so every bit helps ime. I have seen driveshafts break and shred themselves by being caught on departure and factory 80s drive shafts in the tube section are 1mm thick and like a thin slice of bread one ding and it will shred like melted cheese, ask me cause I know! mine are strengthen with 4mm tube, that wont ever happen again, easier to replace a uni than a driveshaft and easier to carry spares! I also like the Dissent high clearance bar, but it cant take swing outs, but its still in my consideration Looks so good and the clearance oh that clearance! Just awesome. Also a fan of trail gears design, I'm a big fan of tubular rear bars, but they are rare for 80s, plenty for Patrols (GQ/GUs) but not so much for 80s probably again due to the way the rear chassis cross member was designed for the Toyota bumper wings, which is one thing that is not as well designed as Nissans version on the Patrols. Patrols have a better rear chassis cross design and also sway bar setup from factory. Experience not opinion here, but I am happy to cut mine off and have a upgraded replacement, like TCC or 4x4 labs. But that's a detailed really good list, cheers and some great bars out there! I have my factory wheel carrier lucky mine is a rear door swing away, not underneath like some! I carry a 20t bottle jack and some 4x2 boards I had knocking around for a J base for stability and extra adj, also good for leveling on ground, if req. I carry the usual stuff but minimum to reduce weight as much as possible! Not overload it that seems to be the trend today. So I like minimal bars and high clearance and strength as my priorities. Not just load carrying, I hate taking stuff I don't use. TCC's new model is 5mil plate all round and side wings are braced to the chassis and its designed to allow up to 37" tires without cutting! I like it allot, but the 4x4 is clean one of the best looking bars for function, its no wonder its so popular, plus you can get it complete or weld it as a kit also and it suits the 80 s much imo will depend on lead times and shipping costs ultimately I guess, def be unique where I am as well which is also something I like! Got to make a decision though, either that or buy another one and order both! I can get the bar past the other half, but another truck and bar might be pushing it 🤣

Now that I know everything about bumpers on the 80, all I need is an 80. Great series of videos.

If your series, look every day and in multiple areas and states. Side roads or maybe need a little work. That’s how I found mine. It Needed some work and was half the price but worth every penny time and effort. Because it was pretty much had all options I required.

Have the general green, love it but just wish he went with a gas strut on the swing out instead of the new metal stop. Nitpicky on my end because I still really enjoy it.

Great video ! I have all General Green components on my 80 - winch tray, tire carrier, corner armor and second swing out. They all work great are bolt on, and will work with my factory plastics. Thanks for this in depth evaluation.
