I agree about other commenters putting Zach down for being dull or having no personality. Although I wasn’t excited about him being the bachelor, after watching this first episode, I like him and find myself relieved to see someone who appears normal and maybe really wants to find love. (I know what the odds are but still…) I found myself feeling annoyed at another podcast where the hosts could not STOP bashing him for being just a regular guy.

As someone who wasn't all that excited about Zach I actually did not find him bland this episode, I really enjoyed him! The way he handled the entrances was slightly goober-ish but honestly adorable. I'm actually really happy he sent Madison home and didn't give her a pity rose. Give him more credit! Did you see Christina Mandrel was previously in a Taylor Swift music video?

I was so glad to see Madison go. I just knew she would be kept on just for the drama. I thought the first night went well. I enjoyed Zach. I know who the Mandrel's were/are. These girls won't have a clue. I almost didn't watch this season but then I remembered that you would be doing your reviews so I had to watch for the all the zingers about Basic Zach. I mean, it would be nice to have a real couple emerge after the last few seasons of dumpster fires so maybe Zach will provide us with a nice love story. All that being said, I would have LOVED your commentary about BiP this season! A couple of episodes were my fav of all Bachelor ever! That's where the real drama and the real couples come from!

​@@ewolfgirl In Paradise you see how each person would actually fare dating in real life....on Bachelor/Bachelorette it's impossible to tell how desirable someone is because they're being evaluated by a single person (single point of failure). But in Paradise some people are gonna have all the options, some are gonna have a few, some are gonna get shut out completely....similar to how it would work in any social circle in real life.
