1:07 Sade is a group, not a solo act. It's named after her, and the visuals usually just include her. But the album credits always indicate that it is a group and identifies the other three members of the group (Paul Denman, Andrew Hale, and Stuart Matthewman).
@irishbeatbox2 ай бұрын
@@columbia81 thank you for expressing this. Most people just think Sade is her, but as you correctly stated it’s the name of the band. They are all incredibly integral in the music.

Credit for Carpenters. As you said, Karen's voice is a gem. One of the greatest. We can only imagine the music she would have made if not for her early passing. Lastly, Richard Carpenter did an album with the London Philharmonic playing all their hits and he added Karen's voice on top of the songs. The record is Phenomenal. You should definitely check it out.

Nice to see the way you handle your records mate ! Most of my favourite records were made in the 1960's. and the 70's Back then there was competition for record manufacturers to record with the highest fidelity tape machines, and even Direct to Disc , bypassing tape recording. Also the discs were heavier and did not warp much. Some of my favourite records i use to enhance my Hi Fi gear are ; Percussive Vaudeville The Big Theatrical Sound. Doctored for Super-Stereo.....audio fidelity usa 1960. Tango Dynamics. Nobuo Hara and his Sharps and Flats, Super Dynamic Sound. King Records, Japan 1964. Neil Diamond. Hot August Night. live recording. MCA Records, made in the usa 1972 I've Got The Music in Me. Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker Sheffield Lab Direct to Disc usa 1975. The Carmen Ballet. Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra. Gennady Rozhdestvensky, conductor, recorded by Melodiya ussr. My favourite song by the Cure is called "Close to Me". It is not their usual type of sound. It features brass and percussion and has a upbeat jazzy type sound, which is very catchy foot tapping.

Hey Jarrett, I don't know if you're really into Electronic, but I thought I'd mention this Transa, which is a Trance music group, released a brand new album called "Resurrected Volume 1", and they plan on adding Resurrected Volume 2 on 2x12" 45RPM opaque orange vinyl. I highly recommend if you're into electronic! Now my question: I went to a record store and the guy was awesome, he allowed me to purchase a used gemini SA-2400 Direct Drive High Torque Professional Turntable. I was wondering, if the Audio Technica cartridges could be used on it. Thank you! Keep spinning that vinyl! Song of the day: Hello - Adele

Already commented but I do have a question. Do you think there is a benefit to going for vintage vs. a modern tech (players, receivers, vinyl itself even)? My local record store SWEARS by only vintage in that they were built to accommodate vinyl rather than needing and pre-amp or other workarounds. I have my own thoughts on that, but I'd be curious to hear your perspective.

Hey Jarrett, I hooked up a ground wire to my turntable and receiver, and I still get a faint buzzing sound, granted it's quieter than not having a ground wire at all. It might be because I have a turntable w/out a built in preamp, so to bypass this, I bought a receiver with a built in Phono preamp, and used another RCA cable with a 3.5m AUX cable for phones, and hooked it up to my all-in-one turntable AUX option since I don't use that turntable anymore. Why could the buzzing sound still be there? Thanks!

Thank you once again. I have a question for you. I recently bought the new David Gilmour album. In New Zealand it sells for $79.99 with a silver vinyl copy retailing at $99.99. It’s a single album. I also bought the new Jon Anderson album. It’s a double album and retails for $75.95. Why are the prices so different. In this case a double album was cheaper than a single album. Some artists appear to be more expensive.

Very surprised that you like Portishead, which is basically singing for hip-hoppers-because what is the music other than hip-hop beats waiting for an emcee to rhyme over them? The self-titled album is darker and even more mysterious than “Dummy,” which will make your neck snap! Peace.

For a someone purporting to be a huge fan, you don’t seem to realise Sade is a band. Yet you keep referring to them as her. You make no reference to the rest of the band, despite showing a photo of them on the cover. The singers name is Helen by the way. Not Sade. It’s a common mistake due to the way they were often marketed. But definitely a band. Not a solo artist.
