Could one of my US friends please explain to this slightly ignorant Englishman what exactly a Rescue Engine (like the one at 5:45) is and how it differs from a normal engine? Does it, I'm guessing, carry rescue equipment -- i.e., the jaws of life? Or is it a paramedic thing? It's all a bit confusing to us over here because you call ambulances and, what I would call a Rescue Tender in the UK, both rescues. Thanks in advance.

YelpBullhorn With a rescue engine you can carry out the capabilities of a rescue squad and an engine. RE’s Carry and pump water, hold ropes, extrication tools etc.
