Wow! It was fun to see some old cloth diapering brands have ventured into storage. I used Bumkins covers for my kids (14-19 years ago) and some of the covers are still working for friends. I'm sure their bags would be good too. I use the slide seal and zip bags for both camping and hiking and have worked great.

Super late comment, but I have been using the same set of 5 Re-Zip bags daily for the past FIVE years and they are still as strong, clean, and tight-sealing as the day I bought them. Can't speak to the durability of Stasher bags, but there's absolutely no reason to worry about the Re-zip one wearing out!

I love Aforcli's bags more because great value, great price ! I have been eliminating plastics from my household as I'm super concerned about the environmental impact of all the plastic we use, as well as its affect on our bodies when we cook food in the microwave, or even place them in the dishwasher. As these are silicone, they are dishwasher and microwave safe, and also can be used to store food in the freezer. I use them exclusively now and do not ever have to buy ziplock bags anymore.

#1: Smellyproof bags, #2 ZipVac bags. ZipVac bags enable re-vacuum sealing freeze-dried goods. Included manual vacuum sealer weighs only one-ounce. As any hiker knows, freeze-dried costs more than ten-times as much, but weighs one-tenth. Pre-made meals, such as Mountain House don't require resealing, nor do homemade vac-sealed meals. But, what if one wants to buy and use cheaper bulk freeze-dried (e.g. meats) on long-distance trails? Sure, one could use a regular ziplock, but freeze-dried quickly absorbs moisture from the air, gets heavier and potentially spoils. ZipVac solves these issues.

Great review. I have the Homelux style ones and I use them a lot for camping but I kind of hate the plastic part. It's awkward sometimes to get it on and off and it makes the bag so bulky. One thing I sometimes do is kind of roll them and put a big rubber band around them instead of using the plastic slide. Fits better in the cooler, and works for non liquid things. I have been wanting the stasher bags but omg they are RIDICULOUSLY pricey. I just can't. I'm so glad you showed how they can open if you push on them. That's not going to work for me so now I don't have to covet them :)

Great video. I have the Stasher & Re-zips & love them both. I use the Stasher for fridge/freezer only & the Re-zip for fridge/carrying about. I'd never heard of the Bumpkins & look forward to getting a few of those. Lunchskins, on the other hand, are the only ones I didn't care for. The box I received was defective & I have to tape them down the sides to use.

little tip, if the bag is not water tight, then its not air tight either, and so things will perish quicker, or go stale sooner etc... also any woven material or vinyl containing bag will be a bacteria magnet.
@JoseRamirez144 жыл бұрын
Anthony Hockley I have stashers and wash them by putting water and soap in it and shaking it around so I know for a fact it’s air tight and water tight. She was just saying that if you have liquids in it and have a little air and you squeeze it hard enough it’ll open, thus letting the liquids out

Good overview of those bags. Those HomeLux ones look like they could work for holding and rehydrating homemade dried meals. Have you considered trying them out for that? Probably be good to have a cozy to put them in too for insulation if they could be used for that.
@amanda.outside5 жыл бұрын
That's actually why I originally bought them, but I've noticed that meals don't rehydrate as well in silicon. I need to test it a little bit more!

what is the difference between the material of the bumkins and lunchskins cloth bags?
@amanda.outside4 жыл бұрын
So they both are made of a waterproof fabric. The main difference with the ones that I have is the zipper closure on the Bumkin versus the velcro closure on the Lunchskin bag. The Lunchskin bag also feels a little bit thicker. Lunchskin also sells bags with a zipper closure, but I haven't tried them yet.

Thank you for doing this video. It was helpful even though I couldn't catch a lot of the words in it. You talk really, really fast, too fast for me to follow well. Next time you do a great video like this, slow down a little bit? Is the ReZip made of the same material as the Stashers? And what about the ones with the slides that go over the top of the bag (couldn't understand the name) - are they platinum silicone as well? When you say they will "stand up" does that mean they will stand up by themselves, so you can pour something into them? Thanks.
@amanda.outside4 жыл бұрын
The ReZip bags are made of a type of plastic. The Stasher bags are made of silicone so they are plastic free. The HomeLux Theory bags with the sliding top piece are made of silicon too. When they are full of food, they can stand up on their own, but you would have to hold them upright when you're pouring something into them. Hope this helps!
