Thank you for the video! There's something I didn't get - if you cut the strip in half, do you now need two controllers plugged into power to make both parts work?

Yes if you cut it, you still only have 1 controller per kit. But in my case for example I wanted 1 length longer than 6ft as my desk is 8ft long. I bought 2 kits and will reuse the second one with cutoff somewhere else. However, since this video, Elgato also released extension strips sold on their own!
