@@Noobert I actually love the feralisk jungle biome. Of course, I usually spawn with pre-made characters, among which are one or two melee specialists with Rimworld of Magic classes. We set up a wooden embrasure perimeter to begin with, and then slowly cut away the jungle, keeping the spooders away with concrete kill-zones and stone walls. A Walled perimeter is more important than housing at the very beginning! Nobody goes out there alone! The average colonist, even one with flak armor and an assault rifle, is always in danger, since those darn feralisk web attacks could stunlock a single person and get them killed and eaten in short order. That's why rescue teams of melee specialists with medical skills are always on stand-by. Also, fighting insect infestations in the jungle is hilarious. One of the best experiences I ever had in RimWorld was waging a literal bug war over many ingame days with a huge insect hive from Better Infestations. I'm talking raids, night-time attacks, attempts to deny them their own dead as a food source by burning down the jungle, melee squads ambushing Queens that were trying to set up new hives, daring assaults by rifleman squads on newly-established hives, harassment of foragers by my sniper teams, and a bloody final assault on the main hive cluster, together with an allied squad. We walked over carpets of dead bugs until we could put their hives to the torch. We spent days butchering the dead enemies. The next infestation was dealt with decisively as soon as it happened. If you let them proliferate, you are in trouble. Gotta kill 'em as soon as they show up. Gallatross graveyards are also pretty nice.

What, no Archoanimals from Save Our Ship 2? I use Archolopes as attack animals. They die alone, and the entire enemy base is a crater afterward. No joke, these things go up big, and kill an outpost faster than Randy kills boredom.

I have two mod suggestions which are not top 10 worthy but are very fun. “Chocolate” BunBuns, which adds small bunnies that ...ummm... when we’ll feed... ahem ... regularly drop small amounts of “chocolate” Big Fluffies, no you’re not hallucinating this mod adds giant pink fluffy adorkable bunnies. They can haul and be shear for the bright pink fur.

whatever you do, dont get the dragon mod. its neat, but theres only two outcomes: dragons go crazy and destroy all your shit... there is no stopping them... they will not die. and if you manage to tame them.... they will destroy everything. they will kill entire raids by themselves with no health and then regenerate the damage themselves. (seriously, they have to be heavily bleeding with less than 20% blood left to even have a chance of dying.), they will lay eggs which means lesser not-as-helpful dragons but the eggs or the whelps are worth thousands if you sell them.

You can have your self a Avali pack in rimworld with a mod/mods. Avali packs are friends and family together, when one pack member dies the entire pack will have trauma because they formed a bond with him/her at a young age.

Oh fun comment I saw a couple years ago on reddit. Someone's tribal had a raider die and drop some Luciferium. His colony's pet panther ate it. And single-handedly defended the colony until it died from withdrawal. Could you get enough clothing/armor/weapons (organs) from raids to buy and replace a predator/luci defense consistently? Worth a thought.

A warning with Wild Reproduction. You NEED the mod that animals will hunt boomalopes and boomrats I had Wild Reproduction. And my map got overrun with Boomrats. No other animals could spawn because there was about 200 Boomrats

can you make an animal tutorial how to learn them haul in a faster way... bcoz huskies, labrador and pigs (wildboar and guinea pig not inluded) can learn haul compare to other animals but elephants it takes more than quadrum just to teach them to haul... i wonder why is that (thus my only rhino it can be taught to learn guard and attack but still it doesn't learn any of it in years on rimworld... i need a pure Vanilla animal tutorial... edit : or tips of how to systematically train them with the highest efficiency...
