I use Aonijie mesh belt. Looks like a replica or oem of Salomon belt. Over 1 year of use, the logo starts peeling off, but the mesh still all good. Carried phone, creditcard, gels, and 400ml flask no prob

Any chance of a vid on the belt/fuel/hydration set up each of you use SPECIFICALLY for a Marathon.... Is it worth taking fluid if there are plenty of aid stations, the frequency of fuelling and the gels/other used etc etc

Nice overview, thx! I use the La Sportiva running belt, it's super minimal and extremely lightweight at a mere 35g (which was my major deciding factor, I found the FlipBelt to be much too hot). It comes without any bells and whistles, only four compartements of various sizes, no zippers or clips (but it has two rubberized loops for poles). It seems to last quite well considering how light it is, it's also very easy to wear and affordable.

I’ve looked into several of the belts shown here and they’re all out of stock, or only available in Europe. I live in Houston, where it’s usually hot and humid, so looking for a lightweight belt that can fit a water bottle in back with phone in front. Even the Flipbelt Elite is sold out.

I dont like stuff on my back, sometimes I like to take off my t shirt and get a bit of sun so a belt option might be better. Where I do my trail running there is a water source near my half way point, so dont need to carry that much water, was thinking of a collapsable cup

Hu Guys, great, very useful review! I've got Flip belt and I can't imagine any run without it. But I like Camelbak Ultra Belt, thinking to buy one more as I have only one flip belt and many times hard to find time for washing it as only one :) All the Best

I prefer shorts with built in belts/storage eg Adidas trail shorts & Decathlon marathon shorts. On another subject, I have a Garmin 245 watch, what chest heart rate monitor would best work with this? Should I stick with Garmin (duo, run?), or possibly Polar H9? Primarily for heart rate zones, rather than complicated running form information. Advice appreciated
@Catcrumbs2 жыл бұрын
I use a Garmin HR strap that I got with a cycling computer 10 years ago. It tracks HR and respiration rate fine, so just get the cheapest thing available, if that's all you need.

Hi, Nick ! Nice review as usual. I want to ask you which running belt do you think it is best for sprint running ? I need one just for phone when listening to music and I was thinking to put the part with the phone on the back. Also, I mention that I'm fit(1.70 cm and 73 kg), if it probably matters.
@TheRunTesters2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. If it's just a phone for fast I'd probably just use shorts/half tights with a pocket. Something like the Saysky Pace Tight or Brooks Source 9". But a simple belt works well too, like the Fitletic one.
@Mark.011x2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRunTesters I'm not a big fan of that type of shorts, but I'll see. Do you think that the Fitletic belt will keep the phone tight enough ?

Thanks @RunTesters, I'm buying the KipRun belt. Is a 500ml flex flask a good idea or would it be best to get 2x 250ml flasks to spread the weight? EDIT: now have the belt with 500ml flask, can recommend both. Some may prefer 2x 250ml but I decided 500ml is simpler and takes up less space. Was perfect for 15 mile trail run with phone and a couple of bars too with space to spare.

I'm about to get this one too for my first marathon, how was the sizing for you? can you tell me your hip size and what size belt you bought? I'm hoping it doesn't bounce too much with the 500ml flask as I already have that, don't want to buy 2x250 unless I have to, won't be carrying my phone with it just 500ml and some gels maybe.
@aquafabaaa Жыл бұрын
Hi @fletch9210. I’m seriously considering the KipRun hydration belt. I’m at ends between two 250ml soft flasks and a 500ml soft flask. Are you still using the belt? How is it holding up?
@joemilewicz68472 жыл бұрын
Salomon pulse belt. Lots of storage for £25. Good zip pocket for your phone also. Sized correctly and it won’t bounce.
@TheRunTesters2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Pulse is a good shout for a cheaper alternative to the Pro.

How do you run with a softflask in your belt!? The mouthpiece is designed to open when sqeezed, and it's squeezed all the time! Not only that, but pressure is put all around the flask as well!

My top tip is NO zippers on a running belt, so dam annoying fiddling around with a zip when 20 miles into a marathon then you drop your gel, or with cold hands or gloved hands!! Naked belt with its big pull tabs to get in the stretch pocket is great as is the decathlon kiprun hydration belt but Naked belt would be my top pick. OH and Most phones are waterproof these days as are gel wrappers and flasks so being waterproof with waterproof zippers is not needed, even car keys are water-resistant if not put the key in a coin bag
