I wrote my English essay for my exam portfolio on sampling, and I had a full section dedicated to the symbolic importance of the 90210 sample. Probably my favourite song ever, great I got to incorporate it in my schoolwork Edit: For those asking about what I wrote in my essay, it was something along the lines of: It's the same/.very similar to the one Kanye used for Family Business. So not only is this displaying one of the uses of sampling (To pay homage to one's influences) but lyrically the second part of the song is centered around family. So in many ways, the 2 parts to 90210 show travis's key influences aside from the trap aesthetic, one being this heavy rock ballad sound he has played with often, and the second being the chopped up sample style he got from Ye.
