I second that @Mike Hutchins, ever since I started watching Jeff man, this man's helped me think on so many things I was doing wrong lol had me thinking about things and putting in food plots the right way and getting the results I have by watching the weather and thermals and wind direction. Just trying to leave the smallest foot print ya can in the woods getting in and out undetected; its just a great feeling.

Great video Jeff I have killed a few bucks with Tinks 69 but with only 1 exception the deer I killed were young. I agree with you Jeff trying to trick seasoned Bucks doesn't usually pay out, It mostly just COST in multiple different ways. As you mentioned in the video. Thank you Jeff for sharing your expertise in the videos I am learning a lot about the White Tail world. Not just killing deer . The Good Lord gave me a good season. I tagged out. 2 good 8s and 2 does This is the first year I have been able to kill a pre-targeted Buck . Pretty Boy. Thanks again for sharing your life long accumulated expertise.

I have a lifetime of learning to do still but your numerous videos promoting religious de-scenting as the biggest factor are spot on. Just took a fat doe this morning at my watering hole, it was more exciting watching them hit the vine in person than actually harvesting it! So many pics of deer hitting it all year. Thank you Jeff for all this info you really helped me out on my small parcel! I need to move my stand back in the off season it’s too close and I cant access without spooking. Anyhow I shot it from the ground during our gun season backed off. Surely getting the sense of their herd mentality and can’t wait to get another one since I’m sitting on a doe factory. Fingers crossed for the secondary rut, still have some monsters on the cams! Thank you so much!!!

My grandfather and great grandfather were farmers from northern Maine . They also guided part time. For a very short time as a kid, I got to sit at the table with both of them and my father when they talked hunting. ( as long as I was quiet ) I remember my dad showing them a little brown bottle with an orange label. They opened it, took a whiff , laughed and said " you bought that ? "

I've watched more of your videos than I count count, been doing what I can to follow what you share, if I had the cash I'd have it all done already. But instead it will take years. Improvement on the land and access is my goal this year. With the addition to food plots and doing some simple but highly effective improvents allowed me to see deer every single time I was in the woods and we even harvested two really nice mature bucks this year. Hopefully the future holds more great advice. Thank you.

Hello from Maine, hope all is well on your end. I have been hunting whitetail bucks for over 40 years and I have always believed that a hunter never stops learning from experiences while hunting. That is why I very much enjoy your channel and videos, because of the information you share to get the brain thinking, and I thank you for that. However, this video was a bit confusing, not to be rude. what I mean is, typically when making a "mock" scrape, a hunter will put buck urine and even doe urine in the "mock" scrape, otherwise it is just simply a scuffed spot on the ground. Do you do this without urine, or do you actually put urine in the scuffed area? And as far as the licking branch or "Vine" as you call it, is that just a random stick or vine that you just pick up and hang over a "mock" scrape? Or, is this something that you actually buy? I understand that you put nothing on the stick or vine. Could explain what attracts the deer to the spot on the ground to begin with, please? Thank you very much for your time, experience, and time!

@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 Thank you, your videos really help me manage a little 28acre parcel... it’s hard because it’s small but it’s a pass through for a very good bedding area, and a water source, so most times I see a lot of deer and many doe stick around, which draw in those big boys. This year has been tough though because land next to me was bought and the seem to cause that domino effect when they come into there stands, so deer have either been scarce or running very fast. A Montana buck decoy had made them stop on one of these incidental pushes and I was able to harvest a few deer because of curiosity.
