Thanks for this review! I am in my late 50's and can't run anymore due to knee issues, so my doc recommended a Peloton bike for cardio workouts. After regaining consciousness following the sticker shock from pricing the Peloton bike and the monthly program fee, I decided to research much less expensive bikes on Amazon and settled on this one after reading several reviews and watching yours. I plan to use it with Apple Fitness Plus cycling classes since I'm already firmly in the Apple ecosystem. The bike is "out for delivery" today, so I'm looking forward to getting started with it soon.

@@cmcsdf Great! It's a very well-made piece of equipment. Assembly wasn't too bad and it works very well. My only complaint (to several echo others here and in the Amazon reviews) is that the digital readout is very dim and hard to read, but if you angle it just right, it's not too bad. Really, when using it with Apple Fitness+, the only thing I care about is the RPM's anyway, so I set it so that's in the largest part of the display and it's fine. I think some others have bough aftermarket gauges to use with it too - so that's also an option, but really, the one that comes with it is workable. The bike itself is great though!

I Just received the Yosuda Pro R. The bike weighs approximately 75 lbs. This bike is extremely solid and well built. I expected the phone holder to be plastic, but even it is metal and weighed perhaps a ½ to 1 pound. The instructions are meager and the drawings very small, however, I’m used to assembling things, so the instructions were just ok. Because of its weight, the bike was difficult to assemble, but I’m 78 years old and 80 lbs overweight with a very messed up back. It’s like I’m carrying this bike around on my body every day. I hope to lose weight using it. I bought the under-the-desk version for my wife to exercise her knees. I was impressed at how well built that one is, but the resistance is too light for me. I debated about spending $500 ($425 on sale) on a bike that might not have enough resistance. I used the Pro R for the first time this morning at about medium resistance. After two minutes I was toasted and panting; that’s all I could do. Haha! Talk about a workout! (Or talk about being out of shape and obese) I’m 6 foot and put the seat at level 4. My first observation is that I wish the seat could go back further and the handlebars could come closer. Perhaps raising the seat will do the trick and give me the proper distance to the pedals. Also, the seat stem was extremely hard to get into the frame. I pushed it in with some force and was surprised at the difficulty since everything else about it is so well engineered and built. But the tolerance was so tight that I had to beat the stem riser out of the tube with a hammer. I then removed the plastic piece on the bottom, and it still went it with difficulty. It shouldn’t be such tight tolerances. But once I adjust the height to my body, I won’t be adjusting it anymore. Extremely happy with the bike and as far as it’s longevity is concerned, with two-minute workouts it should last five hundred years! Haha

I got this same model about a year or so ago, and my coloration is definitely construction orange. I wonder why they’re shifting to red? I guess it does go better with all the Peloton accessories, and many people (myself included) do use this as a Poorloton hack. 🤷♀️

To illuminate the LCD display, you can just add a rechargeable USB clamp light if the ambient lighting is dim. I watched your review, and it was very informative. I agree the base model is not quite ideal, so I did go with the YB007R model...which has the 40lb spin wheel and better display, etc. I did purchase the red color too as opposed to the orange. Thanks for the video!

Yosuda also has a stair stepper that's pretty inexpensive. I'm wondering the difference in the workout and effectiveness between the stair stepper and the bike. I'm in my 70s almost 300 lbs. I have a 100 lb to lose. Do these different machines exercise different muscle groups? Which would be best for losing weight Thanks for any help. Very nice review.

Interesting... about 2 months ago I acquired a Weslo Cross Cycle, where you pedal and push/pull with your arms. I wanted more cardio, and a friend did not want it any more, so the item was free to me. Doing my TG circuits definitely gets my heart pumping, but as I adapted to the workouts, my cardiac exertion was inadequate. Now I can finish my TG workout and jump on the bike to extend my workout with a PACE (HIIT) style finish, pushing my heart 4 to 5 more rounds of exertion. I only hold the handles during the first round, then I sit erect and manage the other rounds in the erect position... so I am not so in favour of the arm action. From what I can tell, Weslo is an Amazon only brand. This unit is NOT a fan based bike, but it is not quiet, though not as noisy as a fan cycle. It is pretty well built though. Lastly, let's just say this would not be ideal to try and use while watching a show. On a similar note, at around the same time (before I knew the Weslo Cross Cycle would be available to me) I acquired a Cubii "under desk" elliptical. Specifically I purchased the Cubii JR2. Which pairs with an app on my iPhone and Apple Watch. This device is absolutely silent and I can almost forget I am pedalling while watching a show or sporting event on the TV. Exertion is much lower, but I can burn about 100 calories in 15 minutes.... which I would otherwise not have done. Had I known the Weslo would soon be available to me, I think I would not have purchased the Cubii. Having them both now, I would not want to give up either one.

I have this bike and am not sure I have it set up properly. Even with the no resistance (punched the red button), there is a lot of tension. I'm recovering from knee surgery, so sometimes I just want to move my knees without much tension. It's my first spin bike. People have told me to be careful when I stop pedaling because the wheel may keep spinning. Mine does not. It is never totally slack. I tried writing for support but haven't gotten very far. Somebody suggested checking the clearance and the ball bearings, but I'm not sure how to do that without precise instructions. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Appreciate the review. I purchased the magnetic plus model and somehow resistance won't go low enough to do sprints. Tried multiple fixes, but nothing works. Even the lowest resistance has somewhat harder resistance. I've spinned quite a bit at gyms, but on commercial grade, expensive bikes. Does this model have little resistance for when sprinting? Thx

Yes, the resistance can be adjusted from very easy to very hard.

This is a common complaint among many stock seats that come with indoor bikes. I'd just say to upgrade to a better seat.

I would not get this bike. Bought the bike a year and a half ago. Great bike for the first year but a part broke. Since it was only a year the warranty was supposed to cover the part. I reported the issue to customer service with five emails showing the receipt. I did not receive a single response. Their customer service does not have a phone number, only an email. Very disappointed because of how much I used it. I had to buy another bike.

Thanks Ed. I had to cut out more info I had in the video for the sake of time where I mentioned it was between this and a new fan bike (I've got a broken ancient one). I'm still on the fence about replacing that, but I know that relisitcally this makes more sense as my wife can fit and use this as well.

Does this work like a real bike when you stop peddling.

It's a belt drive instead of a chain, so it will not spin once you stop pedaling if that's what mean.

Good, interesting review Mike. My ideal indoor bike would allow the Zwift program control how easy or hard it is to pedal, would automatically transfer workout results to the Strava program, would have much better graphics, and would require no assembly. Unfortunately bikes meeting these requirements are considerably more expensive. What prompted you to buy an indoor bike?

I cut a whole segment out of the video, but my airdyne (which I got used from the 80s) has been out of commission for a long time, which has led me to really stop a lot of my cardio I was doing for the better part of 2-3 months. I wasn't really using it for HIIT cardio but more low intensity rides post resistance training. I still might get another fan bike, but I know realistically this fits my needs and my wife will more likely use this one as well.
