You need to read the manual first; it states you need to use noise cancelling and ground balance every time you change the frequencies. You also need to ground balance over clean ground, by using the all-metal mode first before pumping the coil up and down and before switching to ground tracking. Also backing off the sensitivity helps the jumpy numbers by stabilizing the detector.
@SeekandDetect Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I will probably try that in another video, no ground balance vs. ground balance vs auto tracking.... all on the same targets.

seems to be slightly in front of the center but as the target gets deeps its a little tougher to tell.

I haven't read many of the comments but swing speed definitely gives you more depth. The lower the swing speed number the deeper. 3 is good for better seperation, a smaller coil will seperate even better on 3. Cheers

I wouldn't let that worry you, watch a few of my X-Terra hunt videos. I find just as much as I do with the Equinox. I'm a little less sure before I dig, but I dig all good sounding signals regardless of number. If you're really concerned, a couple hundred more is the next step up to the X-Terra Elite. I don't have one yet, but they seen to be better. Worth the extra $$ thats really up to you.

At 4" the X Terra Pro I have screams on a quarter with headphones. Even at about 1/3 of max. sensitivity level of 9. Hmmm. It sounds like you have a bottlecap in the hole instead of a silver quarter. Something in your your settings or EMI or what?

What is your Iron Volume Setting on the X-Terra Pro ???
@SeekandDetect Жыл бұрын
I've been playing around with the X-Terra so much lately I do Factory resets often, so my iron volume is usually at the default. In the past with the 900 I played with zero iron volume and use vibration only for low tones. The vibration is tough to feel with gloves on and I'm pretty sure it reduces battery life (especially heavy iron areas)
@carolrice2063 Жыл бұрын
@@SeekandDetect The iron volume is in the Hidden Settings on the X-Terra Pro , So that means that's it's on 12 if you have done a Factory Reset And that's why you're not hearing it and I have mine set at 25 and I also have the X-Terra Pro main volume also on 25 and what is your Tone Break Set up on 🤔 ?? And I will eventually be getting the 900 but there's enough Settings on the X-Terra Pro to know what really works for it and the Equinox 900 just has a few more Settings on it that the X-Terra Pro I think it will Compete.....

Your Test is inconclusive, because you did not reground balance and NOISE Cancel when changing frequency. READ the manual.
@SeekandDetect5 күн бұрын
I agree to a point. Actually from what I've heard, and I don't know if it's true, as long as the soil is pretty clean, leaving ground balance at zero will give the best performance. Noise cancel really only matters if your machine is chattery because another detector is nearby or you're experiencing EMI.

@carolrice2063 Жыл бұрын
@silversurfer3202 Keep the sensitivity down below 20 Sensitivity and 15 MHz and All Tone's And I have been using Park 1 mostly but the test that I have done I was using Park 2 and the Recovery Speed 3 And I swing pretty fast and it is the best Separation of target's but 1 is the Deepest and almost no separation and I use to have the Simplex + and I couldn't use it At some of my Park and Permissions they have to much EMI and 3 bars showing Sensitivity and then I found out that the Simplex is only using 3 Tone's, High Medium and Low Tone and I can't change it to get a better idea of what the target is going to be and I can with the X-Terra Pro and he has the Ground Tracking on and that eats into the knowledge of the target is and I personally don't use the Ground Tracking feature and I also don't use the Threshold Tone unless I was going to the Gold Mine Areas and also he doesn't mention the tone break that he was using and the hidden features that is in the X-Terra Pro Settings Button, there's more to the X-Terra Pro that ALOT of people don't know anything about and I'm still learning about it and you can't hurt it and he does the factory reset and it has a Single Program reset, but you can't hurt it by just checking and changing it and I have also noticed that the X-Terra Pro is Site Dependent and what May work for one site May not work for another Park, but the X-Terra Pro is a great work in progress and if you have any questions about it just go to my Channel and ask me.... and I will try to help all I can... and I also started with 12 Sensitivity and worked my way up to 18 Sensitivity and I don't go anything else Higher than 20 without any kind of ground Feedback and that's why the Jumpy VDI and also if it's a JUNK Target And the jumpy VDI is telling me that not to dig it up and I hope that I can help you with the X-Terra Pro....
