I just discovered your channel last week and have been combing through your videos diligently in preparation for my arrival of my very own hormonal teenager:) I love your content and the sarcastic humor you include in your videos. I'm certain these tips will enable me to hit the ground running when my Mavic Pro arrives. Sorry I didn't purchase through your links, but now that I know a little about how you-tubers make money and how consumers can support your channel, I will definitely be conscious of that the next time I make a purchase:) Good up the good work!!

You mentioned accidentally stopping the blades and falling out of the sky. The CSC (Combination Stick Command) bit me once. I was recording for the motorcycle police, and was just hovering while waiting for the instructor to quit talking. I looked up and noticed they were all getting back on their bikes. This was a little ways away from me, so I really didn't hear my drone, andI forgot I was hovering. Out of habit, pulled the sticks down and out to start the blades and take off. Dropped 20 feet instantly, and fortunately, not on a police officer, lol. Cost me $500 for new camera and legs for my Phantom 3 Pro. My Mavic is being delivered by a brown truck today, so I am glad to see it has the CSC for "Breakdown Only" option. Love the vids Ed, thanks!

Thanks for talking about the "Always/Breakdown" part. I don't think I've heard anyone else mention it. Seems like it should be number one on any of the beginner tutorials for the Mavic, or any drone that has that option. You're probably right, many people have probably lost their drones because of this. Also, love your videos. They are the most informative, and you are by far the easiest to learn from. My Mavic should be here within the week, and watching your videos makes me feel like I'm already flying it. I've only had a few minutes on a friends Mavic, but I've got a couple hours on a Phantom 4 at work. I've never had the time to adjust ANY settings, or figure out any Intelligent Flight Modes, but thanks to your channel I think it'll be a walk in the park now!

I applaud the work you are doing, Ed! I have been watching most all of your videos and am especially glad that you have posted many of them about the Mavic Pro. I have already made about 6 flights and did see that it was a little abrupt on braking, etc. I went ahead and did the changes that you recommended and will test them out next time I go fly. Not only am I a licensed fixed wing commercial pilot and flight instructor, but found that the quadcopter is almost as much fun. I am really into photography and the Mavic is the perfect match for my dual hobbies!

@EdRickerVlogs6 жыл бұрын
At the time I was using a cellphone with a plug that wasn't in the center of the phone, but rather far down to one side. So the included DJI cable for the side port was too short, and I can to reroute it underneath. No other pros or cons though.

Enjoyed your vIdeo, learned a lot. I’ve noticed that certain settings on your remote differ from mine. For instance on the “urgent stop mode” that the rectangular box on your remote says “breakdown “ while mine says “for use in emergencies only” and when you click on the box you can also choose “CSC maneuver .” What is CSC maneuver? There are other areas on your remote that you can make changes to that influence the movement of the drone that don’t exist on mine. By the way I am talking about mavic Pro platinum remote and drone. Thanks .

Thanks so much for your videos...they're really essential and clear! It'd great if you could clarify a little bit the "GAIN" issues of MAVIC.
@EdRickerVlogs8 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! Basically the more you add to the ISO, the more grain shows up in the image...it's best to not shoot with a high ISO. Increasing the ISO is basically enhancing the image brightness within the camera, so that's essentially considered "gain" on some other video cameras.
@pabloperlado8 жыл бұрын
...so, how should we adjust the PITCH - ROLL - YAW - VERTICAL for the MAVIC GIMBALL? Thanks again from Madrid (Spain)
@EdRickerVlogs8 жыл бұрын
Hey, did you watch the video? Did I explain it well enough or am I confusing you?
@pabloperlado8 жыл бұрын
Sorry Ed... it was perfect... May be the only thing you didn't explain was the issues related with the "GAIN". Someone elese explained them in aonther vblog but not clear at all. Thanks again... and if you discover how GAIN works I'd appreciate if you can share with us your points of view. (It was hectic this week with my projects as an architect! and I couldn't take a look on your channel)
@EdRickerVlogs8 жыл бұрын
From what I've read, Gain is the automatic aircraft operation, keeping the aircraft in control of itself. So with 100% across the board, you have a perfect hover (or automated flight path via Go App modes). Adding or taking away from the values in Gain will cause it to become unstable in flight, so they should only be adjusted if you already have instability. Sort of a manual way to calibrate the drone if you see it drifting/sinking/whatever without that corresponding human input.
@kissimmeesux6 жыл бұрын

Question for ya, If I set my TX up using my Iphone and change the expo, Gimble settings, ect and then later decide to use my Ipad to fly with, will I have to put the settings in my Ipad, or will they automatically be set? Hi Ed, Please help me. I set my drone moves up based on your video. Then I set gimball tilt speed and soft start-stop. Now it is soft, cinematic. But I don't like is the sudden start of turn, when I press the left stick to sides. Even I try to push the stick so firmly, the motion starts not softly. I would like to change the settings, not the flight modes, because this problem I met first in Curse Lock mode, when I wanted to start turning.
