@@cringecity124 Actually, the kite shield as been confirmed to have an extremely mediocre surf stat. You'd be better off with 50% of the other shields in the game.

I am aware of that, but the Ancient Shield as an actual shield is still excellent and serves two purposes in one.

I have to make a correction: The ancient shield is the best shield for shield surfing. The radiant shield is the fastest shield. It reduces friction by 90% but the ancient shield reduces friction by 85%. But every shield has a consumption rate of 1. Except a few:The ancient shield has a rate of 0.2. Combined with it's durability of 32 you can surf longer and more eficintly with the Ancient shield. (The radiant shield is still a fantastic shield though!) And the video was still great!

The radiant shield has a consumption rate of 0.6 so it's still a good shield even if the ancient one is better

Everybody knows the pot lid is the best shield, I've killed many Guardians with this bad boy. The Ancient Shield and Guardian Shield++ have always been my favorite shields.

Go early game, have full inventory of shields. Open chests for Hylian Shield. It's discovered, but you leave it in the chest. Now you can buy one in Tarrey Town (Flag checked for discovered and it isn't in inventory) and still return to check for a better Hylian Shield later as the chest was never flagged as looted.

I like the idea of transferring durability to Ancient Shield, maybe not to parry guardian lasers, but more for shield surfing, radiant shield works well for this purpose too (even more well than ancient one, but I still prefer ancient shield, cause it looks a lot better, especially at night)

Great video ! I’ll just add a few things : 1:35 in fact that’s false it can’t work since the modifier that gives this upgraded hylian shield appears only if you kill enough powerful monsters (black moblin/lizalfos/bokos or bosses/gardians/lynels) but yes, when this ranking system is checked you can save before the chest and reload it as many times as you want. Also, it doesn’t get a 1160 durability but a random durability between 1107 and 1160. Also a new glitch allows us to get both guard and durability up hylian shield. But its incredibly long and difficult so don’t do it, really

Ah, either way, I'll be more than happy. Learned a bunch of new things from this shield video. That cave blocked by boulders with the gear inside it over in the Gerudo Desert was surprising. It's amazing how much stuff is hidden within this game.

In Master Mode, it’s best to use a 2H weapon and spin attack them, but the Ancient Shield can be really handy too if your struggling with timing those lasers. Guardians fire lasers with different timings in Master Mode, making it difficult to deflect them at close range With the Ancient Shield, just hold it up and block, it won’t matter in the least what kind of timing a Guardian wants to fire at you

If you don want to go to hyrule castle you can also get the royal guard shield in a chest when you kill the Molduking, i advise to save game since the shield does not always appear

for me the best would be the radiant shield with the hylian shields max durability transfered over, i only use them for shield surf anyway (and the movement they give to do/setup windbombs)(but that doesnt really use a stat) :D

I remember stumbling upon the Hylian shield while searching for Royal Guard gear. I thought it was unbreakable at first considering how much longer it lasted in comparison to other shields. Now I kind of wish I held off until I was capable of getting, and duping one with Durability Up. Maybe next play though. The Ancient shield looks like a futuristic hoverboard. I have been hoarding my Ancient cores, but it might be worth spending one just for that.

Everyone says the ancient shield is the best surfing shield but I always liked the radiant shield since it was so easy to get, got it so many times after using stasis to get in I realized you can actually jump on the first rock you move and get an angle to grab the metal rock inside the cave and easily clear it out.

I’m surprised you didn’t include the daybreaker shield here. It has 3x the durability of the savage lynel shield and still has a really high shield guard. I end up always opting for that one since it’s the highest durability outside of the hero’s shield amibo and of course the hylian shield.

He's using the Durability transfer glitch, which makes the Daybreaker obsolete, since every shield will have the Hylian Shield's durability. In that case, the Daybreaker simply cannot compare to the sheer utility the other shields have, like the Savage Lynel Shield dealing damage on parry, Ancient Shield auto deflecting Guardian's beam and being excellent at surfing, Radiant Shield having the highest speed while surfing, etc.

my favorite moment with an ancient shield was when i accidently found the lair of the teleport marker. found it by accident and was immediately targeted by 8 guardians. without the ancient shield there was no way i was gonna parry or dodge that many beams. love you auto parry!

honestly they break often, so just get whatever you can get, and keep the highest ones. and at least one that's not metal

I killed the Stalnox pretty early during my playthrough and whenever I reloaded for the hylian shield, it was always a clean 90 defense. If I leave the chest unopened and progress through the game, will the shield still be clean or will it have a modifier?

Technically there’s a hidden exp system and you have to kill a lot of enemies and not save and reload if you want that durability up hylian shield it took me in master mode so long I did most of the shrines and the whole champion ballad if that’s what I heard when you brung up the hylian shield.

Yeah. The more enemies you kill the more EXP Link gets, which levels up the enemies across Hyrule and also increases the chances of getting bonuses on Weapons. Most players are already in the late-game, but if you're starting a new run its recommended you wait until late game before trying to get the good stuff.

Hey! If you have damaged you hylian shield and now you want to transfer durability then there is a solution: In tarrey town there is a guy that sells the dlc armor and any armor you have sold When the hylian shield breaks he will offer you a new one! It won’t have buffs, but it will be brand new The best way (in my opinion) to break the shield is the find a guardian on it own, then just not parry its lasers I think it takes about 15 guardian lasers to break it, but don’t trust that Any way hope this helped!

If you've only completed three divine beasts, the spawns in the Coliseum all carry various royal weapons and shields. after you've completed all divine beasts they all carry elemental weapons. great place to stock up after every blood moon. I don't even bother fighting the spawns, i just fly in, hit them with shock arrows, and pick up what they drop.

sorry. I wish I was more specific. The item will be the same, but the mod (guard up, attack up, durability up. etc.) will be different. However the farther you are in the game, the more chances of a higher mod. So if the one you want isn't popping out. leave it there for later

To get the hylian shield with durability up + or 144 protection you need to kill high level enemies to level up the weapons in the game

Well that sucks. I got the Hylian shield in two different save profiles, and neither one has any special modifiers. It's just the regular 90 with it's standard durability and nothing else. Does that mean it's too late to get a better one?
