I’ve been only recently started getting back into Pokémon for games and was wondering why you don’t use Cynthia instead of research? It would preserve your cards and allow you to moderate a fast burning deck. I’m also wondering what your thoughts are on the relentless flame theme deck.

Cynthia just rotated out of standard in august, but I would say Marnie is a similar effect, potentially better if you don't want to draw back into those cards. As for the theme deck, either Charizard one is pretty good tbh

Definitely. I suppose you could play triples since that would also work with weezing, and play it more like a mad party list with only special energy. It's a different build a bit, but might work just as well

I've started collecting pokemon cards and my range is limited to only SWSH01 - 04. What's a good core of a deck for a beginner that uses cards within that set range? Or should i probably go start collecting cards from older sets?

I wouldn't bother with older cards at the moment, since there's still no IRL play, and by the time it opens up again it's hard to say what decks will be best, and the next rotation will be a couple months away. For decks, Eternatus can be built with almost entirely SWSH on, as well as Lapras VMax or Inteleon VMax, and potentially Coalossal VMax
