Best size Gold coin or bar to stack - 1oz or 1/10 or 1g?!

Thoughts on the best representation of 1oz of Gold when stacking.
1oz Gold coins/Bars vs 1/10 Gold coins/bars or 1g Gold bars - what is the best solution? Is there a best solution. My current favorite is 1/10 coins from around the world.

i have switched to 1/10 coins now as I like collecting coins and found the bars were a bit boring and the different designs and dates of coins keeps me interested

My personal sweet spot is quarter oz coins but once I have my two Fractional tubes filled I'll be saving up for the full Oz eagles and buffalos

In America the 1/10 Oz is just over the free shipping level. For grams, you have to buy 3.

At the prices gold is now, it is harder to stack by the ounce. Fractionals make it easier for me as well. Tenths and quarter ounce are my favorites.

In my opinion the optimum weight combined with a low premium is a full sovereign coin, diversifying into half sovereigns.

I like the 2.5g gold bars along with 1oz silver coins ..!! Very liquid and affordable for a new stacker ..!!

why would a stacker need liquidity. the very definition of stacking means you don't sell. how can you stack if you are selling

For smaller emergencies, would it not be better to possibly liquidate a little silver or make sure to have a cash emergency fund?

It's the premium, s you pay over here in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿,,1gm bars are as high as 40% on top ,,,£50 gm plus £20 unless gold nearly doubles its a long long wait ,,,only buy collectable coins ,shield back sovereigns always goes up ,was buying them 6 yrs ago £235 ,,each now over £475 .

I won't touch anything smaller than a 1/2 Oz as the premiums are far too high. If your budget is really tight save what you can until you can buy Half Sovereigns. About £250 today.

If I started from scratch all over again, I would agree with you. Fortunately for me, even though I've started back to front from your perspective, I've pretty much ended up with the same result. My bonuses are 1oz gold and silver coins.

Simple answer. The smaller the fraction the worst value for money. So Buy 1oz coins if you can, 1/4 oz minimum. If you can't afford that save your cash until you can.

I like 1/4 oz its just cheaper than the 1/10 oz and it takes me about 5 or 6 weeks to get 1

Newbie here. What do they mean when they prefer 'Sovereigns'? From what I understand, they mean that they're backed by the government. But a lot of people refer them as sizes.. What sizes are sovereigns? 1g, 2g, 2.5g 5g, 10g, 20g, 30g, 50g, 100g, 1/20oz, 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, 1oz, etc..
