It's called a external wastegate. That sound of rushing air you are hearing once it hits full boost is the wastegate venting that extra pressure to the atmosphere. A screamer pipe is referred to being used on cars with turbos that use INTERNAL wastegates. Does the same thing, but they are two very different things.

Sounds like every other turbo car with a screamer pipe. As soon as that wastegate opens up, it drowns all acoustics from the engine. Doesn't mean it doesn't sound sexy as hell, it just doesn't have that awesome RB note that you generally retain on TT GTR's.

@mikej5337 I am pretty sure you wouldn't have a blow off valve and an external wastegate, its the wastegate doing the whistling, it probably has a screamer pipe on the wategate creating the loud 'whistling/ screaming sound.

Think of it like this: A straight six is when I take your arm and hook up six pistons to it in a row. A V6 is when I take both your arms and hook the pistons up to both of them and angle them like a "V" shape.

yea a screamer is just the waste gate venting to atmosphere, internal and external both can have a screamer pipe. common on old evo's,skylines ect where its easy to devorce the gate pipe from dump.

screamer pipe is not a term sir its a thing. :P its the pipe/ tube that goes connected to the dump side of the wastegate and leads the gases to a more appropriate place and notto burn or melt things nearby in engine bay and yes vented to atmosphere hence its loud and "screams" but not sure you were just summarizing and keeping it simple maybe

I'd just like to say that the Skyline R34 in 2 Fast 2 Furious was a R34 GTT (RB25DET) It was a GTR replica. Used a HKS BOV.
