I have a Phillips 65in i bought on black friday 4 yrs ago and i love it ...i have alot of apps downloaded and i only use wifi with No cable service and i mever run out of anything to watch plus i have philo which gives me all the main cable channels for only 25.00 a month i get 60 something channels ... discovery, history, amc,own, lifetime and lifetime movie , and on & on ...i paid 300.00 for this tv and hooked up a soundbar .... excellent tv

The problem is most of these new design tvs won't last, especially the not so well known brands. Bought 2 of these so-called high end new tvs , but had image problems after moderate use of less then two years! Our other 8 yrs+ Sony hd tv is still working well. Connected it with an Android box & happy viewing for whole family. ❤

I don’t consider the tv’s mentioned in the beginning as the best due to them being cheap, or with issues to overlook. Also I bought a top of the line LG against my belief that they are inferior. The LG will not connect to a Surround system for example the Yamaha A6a out of the box. I put it in the bedroom, and replaced it with a Sony. Much better!

Avoid using an LG Blu-ray player with an LG TV. The LG TV & LG Blu-ray player communicate even when turned off. You'll leave the room only to find minutes later that they've turned themselves BACK ON. To eliminate this I replaced the LG Blu-ray player with a Magnavox Blu-ray player to the LG TV, and connected the LG Blu-ray player in my guest room to a SANYO TV. Problem solved.

As a long time tv service technician, I would not recommend HISENSE or TCL, especially in entry model forms. The longevity of the led backlights in both brands are questionable. Given inflation and what one should be spending on a tv today, OLED is the only true value for life and picture quality. Anything that is not OLED has some form of backlighting that fail , edge lit leds will warp their diffuser when the leds go out making the set non repairable. Entry level sets all use rear lit leds, the quality of LEDs varies greatly and the lower cost sets tend to have led failure early in life. To add insult to injury most of the new sets have screens that are double face taped on 3 out of 4 sides, meaning a disposable product. The entry SAMSUNG AND LG are still better products even with their somewhat hard to use interfaces.

This is my major gripe with electronics and appliances. They are made not to last. In regards to televisions, you’re lucky to get 5 years out of them. My old Pioneer Elite Plasma TV lasted over 10 years. I don’t trust these companies or the industry at all. Had to replace my Plasma TV to work with my surround sound system. Had to replace EVERYTHING since my older equipment wasn’t HDMI compatible. Walked into the store figuring to spend $800 for a TV, walked out $2,800 poorer! What a scam. Each damn HDMI cable was $100 each. Wish I had known about OLED. Such shysters in the electronics industry!

I bought a TCL for a friend. Luckily it failed just inside Costco's 90 day return, so I was able to get rid of it. I have two LG plasmas that are 13 years old and going strong. If they ever failed, I would replace them with another LG. One by the way is at my ski condo at 7,000 feet. Remember the old urban myth that you can't use plasmas at elevation?

Back then i believed in upscaling low-res content to HD to became much better in quality,but now i know is that the only thing it is doing is just simply stretching the image,theres no pixel smoothing at all,all that 4K upscaling hype should be banned,and if there is a way to smoothly upscale low-res content into 4K,then they should call it smooth 4K upscaling, Also there’re other features with the claim to enhance image quality but in reality just make the image do look worse such as mpeg artifact remover,and so since then i don’t care about those so called ai smart tv’s whether they use quantum leds,micro leds,rgbw leds etc,,, a tv is just a tv and we should all remember that if you feed it with garbitch,then it will output garbitch,simply it cannot do magic ,,,,unless you connect it to a supercomputer wich could do all kinds of magic stuff in realtime and then turn that garbitch into something beautyful on screen,BUT then will definitely introduce delaaay and laaaaag.

Simply never buy an LG TV. It is incredibly restrictive with what apps you can load and it does not support a proper VPN. I bought an LG smart at a great cost but it is garbage.

Have you enabled "allow 3rd party apps"? Lg is among the best brands made, period. However, if you want to access any apps you want, nothing beats a Nvidia Shield Pro android box. Smart tv's alone only offer paid subscription apps. Even the workaround is limited. That's why Fire sticks etc. are so popular. But that's just a toy compared to the Nvidia. It's the best you can get & has been for years.

I bought a 32" TCL and the picture quality is terrible. There is too much blue in the picture that can't be adjusted out with the picture settings because there is NO blue tint control. Just red and green. Tried all the settings like picture temp and power but the blue is always there. My 11 year old Toshiba has perfect color because it has a blue tint adjustment. Took it back right away. Was given another set but it was still the same....way too much blue. Called TCL and they said I had to live with it as that's the way TVs are now. Well, I'm not living with it as I sold it for a loss just to get rid of it. Back to my 24" Toshiba with perfect color. I'm just wondering if other brands are like that with too much blue in the picture.

This flat screen takes about 30 seconds to get a screen. Now I read that TV stations are going to do away with "over the air " signals as the cable companies what you to pay for their service. My TV will be out on the curb when that happens. I get one channel with rabbit ears.
