Hi people... Scott Johnson here: We put this together with people we knew could make it to PASIC. I do realize there were, and are, great snare soloists from the last 60 years. If you were at the clinic, you would know that we all talked about all the winners from our decade that we represented... much respect... and just a side note: None of us posted this with this title on it "Best Snare Drum Soloist Alive" If you know any of us 6, you wold know that is not something we would ever say... :-)

Bald guy in the bottom left corner of the screen here. It was AMAZING to witness this exhibition. The stylistic changes from the 60s to the present were incredible to see, as was the sheer level of talent. The best part was how humble and approachable these six were. How about we don’t crap on a guy for his opinion and just enjoy this for what it is: quite possibly the best gathering of rudimental snare players on one stage ever.

Wow ... regarding the comments here. I don't think I have seen so many bad tenor drummers in one place. And just for the record - Canada has produced some of the best snare drummers ... ever. I can think of a dozen guys off the top of my head that will make your heads spin! (Don't make me name em ... Paul. Ed. Gerry, Gary, Fred, Brian, Scotty etc etc etc ) This was great Scott. Not demeaning it at all. As a long-time PAS member (In fact one of the first in Canada - hell lookup an early Percussive Notes where I was featured! HA .. that was before colour pix !!) Anything that promoted rudimental drumming is great. But man-o-man the comments. Kids! PLEASE!!!! stick with watching "Drumline" leave us men alone!
