I agree on the xm 21. The mas 49. I dunno. I have got some pretty good kills with Sniper and the non sniper variant. The kick it gives is quite good. It feels so satisfying. I have seen people dying one shot with it. In a steam thread or maybe tips for rs2 I read that the mas 49 has got the highest zoom of all snipers. Or was it in your prev video. I dunno. Thats why I use the mas over mosin whenever I get the chance.

I Like a lot the Garand sniper, you can have a more aggressive sniping, because of the offset optic you have a regular iron sight for close quarter combat. The optic is nice, low magnification, and sometimes i forgot if i have to put the target on the cross or on top of vertical lines, but for my style of sniping i like garand the mos. Plus, is semiauto, you maintain sights with the targets untill your mag is empty. Yes, longer than 200 meters is hard, it helps if you are SL, and you help yourself with binoculars, or have a SL spotter

I agree with most of what you've said, except I have had alot more luck with the M1C Garand with iron sights for some reason. Overall my favorite is the XM21.

My favourite is the Dragunov cause I like going to one position shoot one shot and reposition so the distinct sound doesn't fuck me over ,I think that's my BF3 instincts kicking in

tbh I find the sound easy to find, if I hear it going off I can pin point it, if I hear an M1D going off, It probably won't register that it's different to the M14 sounds tbh

Around 1400 hours into Ro2/Rs1 and around 600h into Rs2 Vietnam I pretty much agree with you with one big exception: I fuckin hate MAS-49 cos the optics/irons just don't feel right to me.

i mainly use the SVD and mosin because they are easy to shoot moving enemies with at range and they are simple as fuck, i hate the MAS because of the clunky feeling, big bullet drop and slow speed. i seem to only have bad luck with the scoped garand so i barely ever play it, M40 is decent but im not good at figuring out which zoom is best and feels complicated, i never tried the XM21 because i thought the same of it until you said that it really is just a M14 with a scope, im definitely going to try it out

yeah I understand the moving targets since they have good shell velocity, the Xm21 is incredible can't go wrong with it, I understand the criticism for the Mas 49 though, but I like the non-scoped one so it feels natural with a scope

Pointers for the xm21: 1. The fact that it doesnt have ironsight is a good thing as u can use it like a foldable stock gun with its fast fire rate. 2. U can kind of hack the game by remapping the zeroing keys and u can adjust zoom without touch the zeroing. I did that as a noob but now I realise the zeroing corresponds with the prefered zoom so not really needed.

And the one role I always nag about not doing their JOB! It's simple: counter-sniping and looking for targets of interest or opportunity, heavy emphasis on counter-sniping. Edit: I like the MAS-49 but yeah, irons are a bit of a pain. Still a nice semi-automatic mosin.

I won't say where I was but I still remember that game on the Hill map where I got 68 kills with the suppressed XM... Tbh.. All snipers are good for me.. I am a true marksman XD (also the m40 really slaps ass.. my favorite sniper rifle as well!)

I agree, I do way better with the Mosin Nagant 91/30 than I do with the Mosin Nagant PU. But the Best sniper have to be the LMG Type 99 and Type 96 from Rising Strom 1.

The bolt closes after you shoot your last round. The Bolt system is AK based and they don't have a bolt catch. There are mags that stop the bolt from going forward and there are modified AKs that have a bolt catch. In RS2V the SVD doesn't have that.

Why should the suppressed XM21 be bad?

It essentially kneecaps the XM-21 in almost every way. To put it in simple terms: A suppressor will muffle the sound of the gunshot, but that means nothing if the bullet is still traveling faster than the speed of sound (around 340m/s) the bullet essentially makes a tiny sonic boom that sounds like a loud *_WOOSH_* , or create a loud *_CRACK_* noise if it flies past your head that's loud enough to potentially damage your hearing. The regular XM-21's bullet travels over 760m/s, so it's WAY above that threshold, so it uses special bullets that have a lot less power and travel much slower around the limit at 340m/s in order to make it super quiet. But what this means is that your bullets now travel EXTREMELY slow (a 9mm pistol bullet travels around 350m/s for reference). This is BAD for sniping because not only does it drop faster over distance, but if the target is moving, you need to lead by a lot more if you want to hit. And because the bullets have way less power in them, it's no longer capable of cycling the gas operation system the XM-21 uses, so it's essentially turned into a bolt-action that you need to manually cycle between each shot. Sure, you get a sneaky-beaky silencer, but now your gun fires at the speed of a Mosin and has worse ballistics than a handgun.
