Hey, A few important things to remember: 🟢There are no completely ‘safe’ places to build, but this can vary depending on the server. 🟢Some of the buildings here can be in really high traffic areas so make sure you pick carefully. 🟢I only show the minimum amount of walls required, you should experiment and always be thinking about security and potential weaknesses in your builds. 🟢Apartment buildings in Livonia contain somewhat decent loot and can be higher trafficked areas than the ones in Chernarus. I don’t bother base building. I prefer being mobile, but I have a friend who builds. He will build a small base somewhere and leave a couple small things in it, maybe an IJ and some other stuff. He then buried all his good stuff nearby. The base itself is just a decoy, and being small it mean’s that people don’t care, and when they do it’s really all for nothing, since all the good loot is under a tree or something

Do people whitewalling not see all stashes? Afaik they also see the little piles when they glich. The people that raided me found all five and thats absolute impossible without glitches. Burried them around my base far far away and in very good spots.... all gone

Bro I just want to say thanks for all these tips. I am currently playing my first play where I return to a base with food, lots of food. I have never before returned into a server with food. Now I collect a ton of apples from tree farms then explore as much as I want without worrying about food. Starting my first base now. Dying of hunger is now a thing of the past. I am crafting tools and stuff without struggle. I also found for the first time not just one chicken but two so far in the same day. Turns out if you survive more than a day and travel inland you find A LOT of stuff and animals. I guess the new spawns on the coast just kills every moving thing, that's why I never saw animals. going to play DayZ right after I caught up with the latest three videos.. had no wifi for over a week.

I built the base precisely on the place you built (near the edge west of Pavlovo and Polonina) I returned 3 days later, and the base was intact but my code was changed so someone probably took time and brute-forced my 4-digit code lock. I was like who the hell spends 4 hours breaking a lock only to find a bison and a few base-building supplies. At first, I was pissed that all the work with building is gone but then came a comforting idea someone just spent so much time for nothing and my LAR, SVDs, and other goodies are buried nearby, intact. So much for building bases.

Definitely needed this video! Always a smashing time when people put out videos about something around the time you about to need them! Have about 600 hours but only ever played on PVE servers with pvp in circles zones…. I have a solo 'base' that is one of the greatest I have ever made (the only one in fact since I suck at the base building). It's just an improvised shelter (the leaves one) that I put near a military base, it's so well hidden that all my guns and gear I hoard there have never been stolen yet, and its also super easy to make (just a pain in the as tho) Just your hands and gloves and a bunch of long sticks, no tools are needed

I’ve built in all these spots across different play throughs on different servers and if build anywhere is turned on and you have a duo or group the white barn/red roof is the best build for something small but nothing crazy as it’s easy to seal, plenty of them and normally out the way of travelled areas! Not to mention easy to expand and I find most the ground around most of them are flat enough for a compound (on official) if you get to that stage

I love finding tiny spots to be able to make a discreet base. Sometimes in a really weird spot. On top of other buildings. Or you build onto one of the construction sites or under it depending which map you're on.

I had a forest base just north or Zelenogorsk. It lasted 5 weeks until it was found.I logged in to find all my walls missing and crates looted.There we’re 3 layers of metal walls to get through so they must have had a whole team to loot it

To learn to build I recommend a PVE server. That way you won't get raided or killed as you learn to build, and you can build pretty much anywhere.(unless the server has rules)

When looking for a base location I’m more concerned with location and it’s surroundings people get extremely crafty when getting into bases.. A hay bale or a pile od debris a few feet from your gate could be your downfall 😅

Check out the 2 story building in polana , the one where it has a curved hallway . I was able to build 9 gates that start down stairs and goes all the way up to the back room. You can do this build on XBOX Offical , you just need to tinker around till you get the right fit.

I built my first base a week ago, in the storage lockers row of Dolina. I have chosen the middle one, the one that has the lil table in the corner. One well placed gate behind the metal doors, 4 digit combination lock, 3 crates. I was planning to add a second gate, inside too, beacause I had 60 nails remaining and a 3 digit lock. The day I logged in to add another gate, there was no base anymore. Raided in 1 week in tier 1 location. My 3 crates where empty. All the worn base building tools, nails, supplies, even a car battery that I found earlier and the 4 remaining planks from building my base where gone. They came with a car probably. I'm planning to build another base, I almost have all the supplies requiered. Do you have any advice to make it less likely to get raided? Thanks for reading

My base is in one of those barns at about 2m40s :) I have lockers down one side and Storage boxes and barrels down the other wall. I keep the middle clear so I can park a car ... If I ever find one that works :D All your videos have been a great help. Thank you very much, Survivor o/

You can bury items under the haystacks inside the smaller barns and it doesn’t leave any trace of a dig site. Just remember where you put them and you can get the dig action icon with some finesse. Personally I’ve had much more success with stashing barrels in dense trees.

Good tips, same works for gardens and dead trees. Before I logged off I'd make a garden patch, bury some of my best gear and leave. When I come back dig it up, people probably saw it but never bothered

It's not any better than simply using handgrenades, plus it's extremely rare. You can simply double or triple up on doors to a point where the raid simply isn't worth it anymore.

I had some long bases with it. Trying to think if I was ever raided there or not but I don't think I was. I'd add a few walls to the hall and keep the back 2 rooms clear of walls so no one could see them from the outside, then I'd dump some crates in there which were all below the window line. But I've had that other tower apartment base for months and months on multiple high-pop servers though and was raided, maybe twice, but given it was my easy go-to base for like 2 years, that's not bad.

Hey, erm... do you mean when you attach them onto the top of the gate and bottom? Cuts can technically stack in DayZ, Machetes and axes are a great example, but adding more barbed wire to a gate won't cut them twice with one touch unless they make contact with the top and bottom barbed wire sets simultaneously. =]

The 'persistence' of improvised shelters is 7 days IRL without contact...the same for buried crates, items.. Unburied Crates - 45 days Base with flag - 45 days, with the flag getting lower to remind you to raise it back up to start another 45 day countdown.

Sounds like a glitch, you should be able to reach it from the inside. In that situation, log out and back in. That usually sorts it xD But well done on the first base! Many people don't get that far!

I never really warmed up with the base building aspect of the game. It just feels too shoehorned in to me, with relying on no clipping, butt-ugly solutions. The closest, that I ever came to build a base, was building an improvised shelter in the middle of nowhere and a few dig sites around it. Requires just minimal setup and will be very hard to find.

This is starting to become my method, pick a decent locale and block it in with a gate. My mate's always trying to RUST-build some custom wooden complex but never lives long enough to complete them. I let him know that's probably the best way to put a target on you, but he wants to explore the building. Its just a shame that's probably the weakest aspect of DayZ.

i know only one method to keep our gear safe at least that precious....buy another copy of game..make ALT and transfer to it all your precious gear. finda safe place login main char drop all on ground, login alt take it. dot need to be logged 2 chars at once. I did like this and i can sleep peaceful because NOBODY can touch your items and there is NO WAY. 100% safety. not 99.9

Try to raid into our building, ... there is at least 20 locked gates! And there is no way to build a stairs to get higher, ... en you have to fight your way to our good stuff at level 3 in a building! And you have find the only two stairs going up! And yes, ... They are not where you expect them to be! I also build it as a maze with a lot of doors going the wrong way! Or who could only be opened from within! After the first 7 gates you are out in the open with a 360 degrees vieuw from us! Where you are trapped in a box with barbed wire all around you! This base will never be raided! And it's also build to be fixed within a few hours! And maybe we already have a plan to move the two stairs to different locations so we can't be raided by the same people twice. So bring those hundreds of grenates and cooking pot shit. We can not be raided! We have a 24 hour watch so there is people from over the world waiting for you to try!
