My Bose 700 is AMAZING , I ALSO HAVE THE WIRELESS SUB AND SURROUNDS AND BOSE SOUNDOCK 500. LOVE ALL OF THEM !! When watching a movie it actually blows me away . The sound quality and rich bass with separations of sounds are first class ! I was always a huge believer in having my giant klipsch speakers and two 12" subs for an amazing theatre but after purchasing this Bose 700 system it has me sold that even smaller speakers can compete with my theatres in the past. So now i have two full theatres in storage a Klipsch set up gold reference series 7.1 and a yamaha set up ..... with amazing recievers...... well just wanted to say that my Bose 700 set up is mind blowing to me. We down sized and sold our big single fam home and moved to a 2 bedroom with office and 2 bathroom condo... so no wires was a must ! Thanks , Brian

I did a side by side of the Bose and the Polk Magnifi mini. I bought the Polk. It's not perfect, but at less than half the price of the 700 it produces solid sound.

(3). MS650, (2) Z9F, (1) N950/850. The Bose 700 would’ve been 4th on my list. Plus you only get the bar with the 700, doesn’t include the sub and surrounds, when added is way above N950 in price. For the ms650 I would add the swa-w700 sub and surrounds and I’m sure it would be leaps better than the Bose 700.

@@GearlyReviews thats subjective...to me AC3 sounds harsh, I can tell. I put on Akira BD with 192/24 my gosh....the sound was just amazing crystal clear. Yea you could hear the movie on the bose...but you wont get that 192/24 experience. Im using the N850, had the B700 for two weeks returned it. I have the rears from 2 years ago when I picked up the MS650, which is in now in the wifes room using them for the rears for the N850....outstanding sound, huge sound.

@@GearlyReviews Me too, man when that BD came out I had separates at the time an Onkyo 805 with paradigm and klipsch sub..sounded great. With this setup I had to turn it down to 17 to 15 percent volume it had that much volume with that high bitrate. I had the K850 the subwoofer...was horrible very boomy with Akira. Having the new N950 sub they made huge improvements to it, wish you could ID SET the SWA-W700 sub to it, that would be perfect but the newer sub its fine.

Dolby Atmos this Dolby Atmos that, I think people should be made aware if you buy any kind of Dolby Atmos soundbar or AV/receiver to use through streaming you need to get yourself at least £1,000 TV (lg OLED 2017+ or other brand oled makers 2018 or newer) the only other option to receive Dolby Atmos would be through a Blu-ray player! and I don't think most people want to start buying discs!By far the most crucial aspect in a audio soundtrack no matter what movie you are watching is the Way It Is 'mastered', regardless what decoding you're using PCM, Dolby d, Dolby d + or even Dolby Atmos!!!

Got the soundbar 700 with the 500 base module...sound quality for music and video games is UNBELIEVABLE...other soundbars may have more features yes...but how good are those features?...I'm going with sound quality just like the video says...its the most important thing by far...and dont sleep on Bose adding dolby atmos speakers at a later date...they are probably just taking their time to perfect it as we speak

I am tossing between Sony HTZ9F and Sonos Beam plus 2 x Sonos One... when I was testing just the sound from the sound bar, Sony sounded absolutely much better .. and I was unimpressed with Sonos beam . however, I talked to a lot of people and they seem to think I should get Sonos because of Alexa. I want to go with my heart but would like to ask you the question just before I do... how would you feel about people buying Sonos and those buying Lane Crawford or other brands of sound bar. Lucian Victor Gudiu it sounds really good without the subwoofer. I ended up getting the subwoofer a week later and it sounds outstanding but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with just using the soundbar itself.

I own the Samsung hw-n950 for the living room - I can attest the overall sound is TOP NOTCH!! It doesn't matter if you are streaming shows, playing 4k discs, listening to music (rap rock or classical), or chillin with a podcast in the back ground...etc it does it all some sonic justice. All of the components are built with premium material at super fine spec. The front facing motion LED strip is one of my favorite features because it's super easy to see what input is being used or the volume level..etc. The ARC programming works like a charm, the DTS-x and Dolby Atmos content I've heard so far was much more impressive than I thought it would be with this particular set up and I have to give props for Samsung doing an excellent job with programming and sound processing. Obviously one could drop $4k-$10k on an independent power amp, multi-channel receiver/speaker set up with power conditioners and probably come out on top in terms of acoustic clarity and dynamic range...but IMHO the hw-n950 is well worth the money if you value high quality sound and want an easy set up/navigation all purpose sound system. FYI: I heard the Bose 700 and 500 at the Bose store, and for some applications like smaller rooms/bedroom set up I couldn't imagine a better quality in a smaller package - definitely my next purchase.

Living in a penthouse now. Can't use in-walls or ceiling speakers. I had Polk towers, plus two active subs. Large center, bipoles, surrounds, etc. I want low impact now. Considered separates, but it'll mean making holes in walls and running yards of cables. Bose and this review remebers, sound is king! Sound is what the Bose 700 does best. Unlike some of the other offerings, the Bose product doesn’t have a lot of unnecessary connection options or decoding options. A minimalist design, this speaker does one thing really well - project good sound!

I use regular speakers with Bluetooth, you can set up anywhere for Hifi stereo sound ( Left and Right). @@andrewcarter6921 so I've gotten demos for both and I ended up buying the Samsung q90R (update of the one in this video) for my parents asn I got the Bose setup myself. The reasoning was simple. The HK citation is more expensive by a long way when you add a subwoofer and rear speakers. Even then it can't produce atmos or dts-x effects as if doesn't have upward firing speakers. It's a very good 5.1 system, however, and looks beautiful. It also can't produce the width of the Samsung or Bose because it doesn't have wide firing speakers of the Samsung or phaseguide and waveguide effects like the Bose model to give that extra width. The Citation's sides are actually blocked off with aluminium pieces. When I asked the person demoing the HK system why the bar has this limitation he informed me that HK want to sell you the bar as a centre speaker for a 6 speaker system including the $2.5k towers as front L & R channels. The proposed price of the system was well over $4k and I still wouldn't have Atmos or DTS-X. It sounded better for music than either the Bose 5.1 setup or the Samsung but it was marginal and also sensitive to the music source. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great but the competition in this market is tough. I was planning to buy citation speakers for several rooms in my house but I felt the cost was just too high and so skipped it. I went with the Bose units. However I couldn't help but wonder why the Samsung product was more capable in many ways and much better value than the HK prestige product. If Samsung had their own Google assistant controlled set of multi-room speakers I'd have bought those instead and maybe changed my house to Samsung instead of Bose. I never thought I'd say that but they're producing some great sound products representing fantastic value. HK lost a few thousand dollars of revenue that day because they've built a product that feels deliberately compromised to not compete with their own enchant soundbar and also their parent company Samsung's product. When Bose is the much cheaper "value" option then something is wrong and I really wanted to like the Citation. They also have a bug with the pairing of 2 smaller units to make a stereo pair. It wasn't working due to an issue with Google Home. I lost patience and enthusiasm at that point. Such a pity because the Citation looks so beautiful and sounds great in many ways.

Sound bars are great for a bedroom, but for a bigger room you need more power and base output than just 200 w. for the sub. Remember that you always want to have head room when buying HiFi equipment, or it won't be HiFi, it will sound over taxed, and struggle to handle the loud parts of movies and music, that's why you need more power than you think you do, for head room, lot's of movies are made better with the sound track and that track is usually based on music, so to buy a set up that won't play back music well is a waste of time and money. When I drove to the stereo shop to test drive all the sound bars they had, I was unimpressed with all of them, almost walked out without one for my bedroom, until the last one that cost twice as much, 1400 instead of 700. and I loved the sound instantly, speakers should do that, if they are good, you should know it right away and not need to be sold on them. I went with the Martin Logan bar and I already had a McIntosh sub woofer to go with it and that has made for a great sound. Spend at least as much on the sub as the bar and you will be very happy, the sub makes it.

I bought the LG sn9yg, I read good reviews on it but was very disappointed. I connected with HDMI (connected to LG C9) and still wasn’t impressed at all. The bass is weak and doesn’t do a good job of making you feel the immersion you’d expect while watching action scenes. The rear speakers (bought separately) were almost completely silent and the atmos sound from above was non existent. I tried for hours, different settings and videos with no luck. It was a good basic soundbar but almost nothing as far as atmos. It’s close to $1k, performance wise it should cost $300 to $400. I debating on trying the JBL 9.1 system next, if anyone has any recommendations I’d love your input.

The sonos is by far the best not even an opinion. The play base just fills the room better with more rich and deeper soundsthan THE SK10Y by LG. If you in the market for a sound bar. Go for the sonos playbase or playbar. You can buy the sub extra and even some surrounds. The SK10Y and SK9Y is overpriced rubbish.

@@GearlyReviews halfway, Sonos has 3 soundbars at this moment, i only have the cheapest at €400 which lacks a bit of low end, but delivers really nice crisp and full sound for what it is. The others are even better. And the Sonos infrastructure is incredible, just being able to add new speakers like Sonos One's, a Play:5/Five or a Sub with the touch of a button is great. Even though the app has a few quirks ive heard they are reworking it.

Nah, not having a sound bar with no Atmos at the top of the pile. The Samsung is good, but not brilliant, and certainly not at the price, it is the same price as a TV !! I have the LG SK9Y, as i got it on offer when i bought my TV, so great value, and exceptional sound quality, and great with Atmos, although not a huge amount of media at the moment, plus i got a free LG smart speaker with it, and that is impressive for something so small. Watching movies with the soundbar i have is superb, and would highly recommend it, as it is great value for money.

Dude i ordered the taotronics sound bar and the thing was absolute shit. My TV actually sounds fine without it, but i was under the impression that it was supposed to enhance the sound (which it did NONE of) and sounded just as tinny and weak with the bass as my TV if not worse. Ill be returning this today. If i wanted to play music on an alarm clock level speaker then i would do that lol.

I don't think so; it's a disturbing trend in technology, IMO. I had a Fire Tablet and "turned Alexa off" but it still would wake up every couple minutes. So basically, it was still listening even though I didn't want it to.

I HAD the Sonos soundbar with its supported Sub and it was pretty dam good. Its wifi only so that was a huge deal killer. Returned it for a Bose 700 and love it so much better. Better options and sound. Was told Sonos hits the mid range sounds with ease but my question to sonos would be, why do you need an amplifier as an added purchase??
