Accursed brew has the highest damage per bullet used. And blackskye eye has the cheapest cost and fastest "cast time". That's why those 2 are generally viewed as the top "spells". Executioner's glove is by far the easiest to use though. You just cast it and it tracks the enemy. Not the highest damage per bullet though.

Accursed brew has pretty flimsy range though. I really don't like how it'll just explode midair so you can't really lob it like a pyromancy in the dark souls games. Also I know it's not bullet efficient at all, but a call beyond with 99 arc against big bosses is too fun lol

@@thatkoreankid9 i was trying to use call beyond on huge electro doggy in 4th dungeon and didnt succeed much, it was dealing like 600-1600 damage with super high bullet cost and cast time is ass, also it doesnt shotgun if you use it while under boss, like you have to be far from boss and boss needs to be standing still, ehh.. gloves tend to disappear before hitting on some bosses too, theyre super great on early bosses but in last bosses like orphan and laurence damage is not that great considering you constantly using your hp to cast it

Idk if it was nerfed or not, but in Elden Ring, using an Int+Fai build with Prince of Death's Staff, Ancient Death Rancor is just broken. It seems weak at first because it's a just bunch of tracking skulls, but it's low FP and stamina cost make it infinitely spammable and the fact that you don't have to stand still while casting means most bossfights devolve into "stroll around waving your deathstick until everything dies". Its spread also makes it super effective against large targets like Elden Beast or the tree dragon things.

ADLS bodies Night Comet on any bosses Margit sized and up or any boss if u are insanely good. Night comets max dmg is around 4k while ADLS is 25k (base game). If u can hit ADLS with good accuracy every time, night comet doesn't stand a chance. Ofc this is at the highest level. For the average person night comet will be better, but ADLS is 100% the most broken spell in the game. ADLS literally saved my sanity playing the DLC first time on NG7, that's how good it is.

Definitely agree, I'm on max NG+ difficulty and with the right buffs, Night Comet can do upwards of 4,000 damage or more per charged cast, taking 2-5 hits to kill just about every enemy in the game, including some bosses. Even bosses like Fire Giant, with as much health as he has, especially on max NG+ difficulty, only take about 15-20 charged casts to kill. Shit's nuts.

Yeah spells like ADLS and comet azur are really good in extremely specific scenarios. Like I don't think I've seen anyone actually use comet azure effectively outside of the mohg cheese and ADLS is so RNG heavy that it doesn't really end up working outside of a few bosses that are both big and slow (And against bosses like that I dare say shard spiral is more effective anyway)

Agreed about the spell from Elden Ring. I did a faith and dex build and holy crap when I got that realized I could cheese anything giant. All my friends who played it wanted to soul farm off me cheesing their giant enemies. Also I played this before the Frenzy nerf, one shot Gideon with the madness grapple first time I fought him. It was glorious and I consider it canon for the Flame of Frenzy ending.

@@aprinnyonbreak1290 The spices reduce the damage of spells because spells scale with int and faith, so having less levels in those stats will lead to less damage, but in DS2 the buffing spells do not scale with these stats and instead simply multiply the total AR of the weapon. The only thing faith changes about Sunlight Weapon is how long it's active, with a minimum of 26 seconds and a maximum of 99 seconds.

I use comet Azur (along with a lot of death spells) to mimic the scene of him trying avada kadevera on Harry in the deathly hollows when Harry intercepts it DBZ style with his own magical laser beam.

Bloodborne arcane builds are so good that even the Holy Moonlight Sword is actually on the low end of their max capabilities. 99 arc executioner’s gloves are insane, and max gem fire and bolt conversion weapons are the most powerful things in the entire game. I’m still partial to the Logarius Wheel transformed with nourishing+flat arcane gems for the multi hit destruction. Most fun builds in the game bar none.

i played a pure arcane build and spells melt bosses, call beyond deal a chunk on Ludwig (who have the biggest arcane resistance as far as i know) so it really depend how you want to build if you stop at 40-50 to build some str for the moonlight, the sword is better but if you go up to 80-99, spells are better imo yes i know "nobody asked" but i wanted to add my experience with it

in ER it really depends on what point in the game you're at, I find that black flame spells are kinda overpowered especially in the beginning because of the built-in percent damage. elden ring actually has a diverse enough array of resistance among its bosses that i slightly disagree about ancient dragons lightning strike, it can be a little sink or swim, definitely a solid pick for large or lightning weak bosses, i would note pest threads which can deal like 4000-6000 damage in one cast on super frustrating bosses like elden beast and ulcerated tree spirit, black blade for holy, burn o flame for fire, then frenzied burst is literally your sniper rifle and discus of light costs 3 fp, has great range, great damage when you land both hits, and it can be multicast. just sit a mile away throwing discs and you can easily kill most knight enemies with like 15fp. it requires a specific build but that specific build literally lives in heaven because of this spell

DS2 Great Resonant Soul and Soul Geyser both are absolute nukes if you can angle right to hit all projectiles the Soul Geyser delete's whatever it touches and both are rather easy to get multiples of with bonfire aesthetics for the Soul Geyser at ideal build 2 uses per copy need 90 something att if memory serves for the 3rd use and a Covenant and Merchant for 2 copies of Great Resonant Soul per run at ideal build 6-7 (43 att vs. 58 8 at 90 something) cast per copy

Rant ahead. TLDR provided at bottom I heavily disagree about bloodborne. The reason Holy Moonlight Sword seems better is because you havent maxed out your hunter tool (spell) ability; HMS softcaps at 50 arc, but hunter tools scale well (and some even scale better) up to 99. Also HMS setup for pure arcane is weak in terms of actual melee; there is some modifiers that make the listed ar bloated. I have a build that has 99 arcane (lvl 94) and it can wreck some of the hardest bosses. Lawrence, Maria, Undead Giant, Cursed Amygdala, chalice Ebrietas. In my experience: Call beyond is insane. It is basically a spammable long range bma buffed cannon. It nearly stunlock Maria. It can anniliate Lawrence. However, it cant work on everything The true best however would be executioners gloves. While these may seem underwhelming with lower arcane, with higher arcane you can get crazy damage and they are spammable. And unlike call beyond, they are quick to cast. Not to mention you can home in on weak points/dodge happy enemies too. And they can stunlock npc hunters as well. An absoulte dps beast. Blacksky eye is really good to, but executioners glove is still better for most things. But it still has its uses, sniping, bullet efficiency, quick travel time, quick recovery, stunlocking second phase of pthumerian elder. But it does have problems against strafing targets and its dps is lacking. Accursed brew is a sorta middle child. Mainly used because of its bullet cost and fast travel time. Augur of Ebrietas is, all right I guess, and can stunlock weak mobs. But I think its only great on melee arcane builds that have a bit more hp in case they miss. I still use it as a combo ender on some things, but it has to be setup with other spells or its just a gamble. With a melee build though its great as it allows you to recover stamina while casting and knocking down the enemy. But its the weapon that is doing the damage then. Tiny Tonitrus used just like a piercing rifle. Usesful for chalice rat swarms, and usable against living failure. Thats it. Might be better with lower arcane where executioners gloves dont just out damage it even against arcane resistant enemies. But its just bad in 99% of the time. I barely even have it equipped Honorable mention to kos parasite L2; that thing is killer against groups and through walls. TLDR: Get your arcane to 99 for spells. Best spells are Executioners gloves and Call beyond. Holy Moonlight Sword and Augur are better for 50 arc or hybrid builds.

No night comet? Probably the best damage/fp ratio and it doesn’t take ages to charge up, i love ADLS and it’s damage is unreal, but night comet is Elden Ring easy mode. You don’t have to stay up close during a long wind up, just stay back, press R1 a couple of times and win.

Like you said, Night Comet is easy mode. If we push the skill ceiling to the absolute maximum then night comet literally doesn't stand a chance against ADLS. Also as others have said, catch flame and carian slicer are better than night comet.

​@@hypotrainAs someone who needed all the cheese they could get their hands on playing dlc first time on NG7, this is the right list. ADLS 1/2/3/4 maybe maximum 5 shots (on NG7) anything. Git gud enough and the game is trivial. CF/CS are the highest dmging, fastest casting, and lowest fp spells in the game hands down. I always keep one of em on me. Night Comet is easy mode but can't reach the numbers ADLS can and is not as fast as CF/CS. Safe option.

Augur of ebrietus parrying is so freaking fun, also the stagger is op as hell im max lvl and can 1 shot most enemies with augur on ng+2.

I would say Night Comet because it is classified as a spell and not an incantation. If you want to throw the 2 together than yeah ADLS is the strongest.

Dark orb is the right choice imo for ds2. Its just got everything. Doesnt do much less dmg than dark hail, way more casts, less cast time, less stamina use.

Ds2 you have great Renaissance souls and soul spear/crystal soul spear

DS2 most op spell is crystal magic spear because you can farm them from dukes dear freja with bonfire ascetics. I'm not a huge DS2 fan but my SL 200 int build has 16 crystal soul spear casts with the crown that recovers spell casts every now and then so any enemy I don't feel like using my sword on I just one or two shot them with soul spear and move on.

I'd say Night Comet is better than Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike. It's easily boostable, more reliable, and while you might not be able to one-shot everything, you also don't have to be lucky for it to be effective.
