Hi, FYI for the melanin rich ladies. I tried the tatcha on my hand and I just knew there was going to be a cast. Boy was I wrong. It blended in perfectly.

Great addition, Erica. I think you for that. I was originally so worried about it and then I started seeing, on their website, images of people with all skin tones loving this product. It honestly is the best SPF ever. Hands-down. When a product can work for everyone, it’s just so much easier to love it.

I 💯 agree. The Tatcha sunscreen is absolutely lovely. A big problem with sunscreen is the pilling and the heaviness with reapplication. This passes on both counts. It is my new favorite for sure. Thank you for your review. Was interested how glow recipe compared. I do like mineral much better.

You know I totally agree with you, Ann. And maybe that’s why the glow recipe doesn’t really appeal. It was perhaps an unfair comparison. I agree as well that the Tatcha passes on all counts.

Thanks for introducing the Tatcha sunscreen to us. I was interested in the Glow Recipe sunscreen but when you mentioned the white areas building up during the day, I can relate. I put mineral sunscreen on and go back 15-20 minutes later to do makeup. I have white eyebrows and I’m my hairline. I have to use a towel to remove. I like the Dr. Brandt mineral sunscreen as it goes on smoothly and doesn’t leave such white marks but the applicator is terrible!!! I will have to purchase the Tatcha during the VIB sale next month. The Dr. Brandt is also 1.7 oz. and cheaper but if I can not be so frustrating by a quality serum, sign me up!

I hate sunscreen period, yet I love this one. Now because of the price I will attempt to use an alternate one when I'm not around people & don't really care. However, I am concerned about not being able to tolerate the others at anytime??! Here in the U.K. 🇬🇧I have never bothered with a separate sunscreen but have always used a moisturiser combined with an SPF. (I am a woman of colour) That being said in the days when I was a jet set traveller🛩 (ahem, holidays to Europe 😆) I would use a separate sunscreen then. Usually though it was the suntan lotion type that were ‘formulated for the face’ but were (still are?) extremely heavy & gloopy 😬💕

Hello Whitney! When I am in Scotland with my husband, he laughs at me because I slather on the sunscreen as if we are still in Southern California. And, as you realize, it is gray and dreary. Therefore, though a dermatologist might panic and tell me I’m wrong, I agree that it is not as crucial if there isn’t direct sunlight. Exactly like your example of going on a holiday and bringing more sunscreen with you. That just makes sense. Good common sense. I totally agree with you. And therefore, for every day great Britain, a nice base with a little bit of sunscreen in it sounds perfect to me too!

I think a deep dive on sunscreen in your Beauty Basics would be very helpful. It does remain to be seen if these products even make it to the shelves in Australia.. Very few sunscreens get released here because they don't meet the Australian standards because of the SPF rating. We have our own ratings requiring a much higher level SPF in Australia as we have the highest rate of skin cancers in the world. I've had skin cancer cut out. I'm actually wearing a Dermalogica sunscreen today with no foundation on. However my favourite brand available here is currently the Australian made brand Ultra Violette. They have a variety of different ones depending on your skin type and preference. The Tatcha consistency looks like the UV Queen Screen which has a dropper pipette dispenser. Its not my favourite because I have Oily skin. I prefer the Matte physical suncreen in the line called Lean Screen. The main thing I've heard with SPFs is that most of us don't apply enough. I'm not sure if Ultra Violette is available world wide, but it is available in the UK via Cult Beauty.

Great review! I'm thinking I may get this at some point and save it to use around the eye area. I am UK-based and shipped the tinted Elta MD to the UK and although it is a great mineral sunscreen on it's own - it doesn't irritate my extremely sensitive skin (esp around my eyes) I just can't seem to use any eye cream, serum, oil etc underneath it as it immediately pills - aghhhh! I have older, crepy, deyhydrated skin - esp in the eye area and need extra hydration but nothing I use works with the Elta MD tinted. I will def look into investing in the Tacha for around the eye area - thanks! In the meantime, I have loads of this damn Elta MD tinted mineral SPF to use up - does anyone have any idea what I could use to hydrate under my eyes b4 using the Elta MD which has NO essential oils, perfume, scent etc AND is available in the UK AND won't make the Elta MD pill? BIG ASK, I know! Thought I'd also mention that I am using the Mermaid Canmake sunscreen on my face and it is lovely - with a light dewy moisturising finish. I often use Hello Sunday SPF serum underneath and add the Canmake on top so I have a double sunscreen layer. My skin is eczema prone and gets irritated easily and this combo doesn't cause problems at all on my face - no pilling and work well together, HOWEVER I can't use this combo around my eyes - they just water and get irritated - I can only use mineral sunscreen around my delicate eyes.

Hello Annie! Thank you for this absolutely wonderful comment. What a dilemma! I have to tell you that before I answered I kind of sat here staring into space for a little bit trying to come up with an answer. I am wondering if any of the Laroche Posey products will work either to moisturize under the eye before the Elta or in place of the Elta, tho I realize you have a ton of the Elta to go through. But the reason I thought of Laroche Posey is that, like the Elta, it’s kind of a Dermotologist favored product that’s so gentle. Meanwhile I’m still thinking and hopefully somebody else will weigh in here.

I was so curious about the Glow Recipe coz I have super dry skin and am always looking for a dewy look. But upon your review, it's a no for me. I'll stick with my Hada Labo Spf 50 PA +++÷. Which feels like a gel/cream moisturizer and doesn't create that sunscreen film. Plus, it has that slight tackiness perfect as a make-up primer. And it's $20 more or less for 90gm.

@tigre9271

@Not Fit for Print Beauty It's Japanese. Hada Labo's core ingredient in most of their products are Hyaluronic acid. Something like 5 forms of it. I've tried a lot of their products. My favorites are the gel essence, olive oil cleanser, and of course, the spf. You can actually buy a small travel size of the spf to try. I think it's 12 grams. On Amazon and Ebay.

@Not Fit for Print Beauty You're welcome. I believe any skin type can use the spf. But dry skin will be the most appreciative of the formula. No fragrance and NO white cast, and I slather it on. The only thing...it comes in a jar. But I bought an empty airless jar from Amazon and I just transferred it to that jar, so I don't have to stick my fingers in it every time I use it.

Oh boy....Mine is lasting about two months, counting days that I don't use it and days where I use less. But hopefully someone can do the accurate actual math for us.The math says about 41 days. If you use 1.2 ml for your face, which is the correct amount recommended.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty ok thanks for the reply. let's say you stretch it to a month, thats over $700 a year without tax or shipping. I think I will still purchase it but try to save it for days I am going out and will be seen, and supplement the rest of the time with a less expensive everyday type sunscreen.

Sunscreen...how boring but so necessary!! Personally I like the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector in SPF 50. It's $49 but comes in a pretty big bottle. I like to use under my foundation because it doesn't pill. If you do an in-depth video on sunscreen please reiterate that you must put it on at least 15 to 20 minutes before Sun exposure 🌞

I used to have a watermelon Jolly Rancher every single day after lunch and after dinner. True story. Is that an addiction or what??!!!! 😂 That being said, I can’t do watermelon scents anymore because there was a time (pretty recently) when every single brand was launching watermelon-scented products. I bought a couple and now I am completely watermeloned-out. Can’t do it anymore. I never, ever wear chemical sunscreen either. That leaves only the Tatcha one for me. It looks absolutely beautiful on you. You 100% don’t need foundation. Foundation who???? The Q of the day is: would it replace my beloved, holy grail sunscreen?? I wear the tinted CeraVe one. It’s a liiiiiiiiitle too dark, but I have tips & tricks to make it work. My love for it stems from the fact that it’s awesome for drier skin. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with an oily complexion. It’s creamy, hydrating, juicy. Perfect for a drier BB. 😃 I would love to get a sample of the Tatcha one to compare. Thank you again for a lovely video!!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰💖

Hello Anitra! Having used the Tatcha for quite a few weeks now, I would say it’s more of a skin like natural finish. Compared to the glow recipe, it seems matte because the glow recipe is so incredibly shiny. But I still urge you to try the Tatcha as it is quite possibly the worlds greatest SPF under mak up. It’s completely natural. 🥰

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I saw one of your darker skinned viewers commented that there is NO white cast on darker skin....I mean the standard has been set. I remember an older sunscreen, La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra-Light Sunscreen feels similar to this Tatcha(that light silky feel) and it's mineral but I think it leaves a bit of a white cast but also feels matte on the skin. It's also half the price and even has a roller ball when you shake it up. It doesn't feel the same later on though.
