This is part 2 of my Chengdu street food tour and I tasted some of the most authentic street snacks on the north east side of Chengdu near 文殊院, one of the oldest buddhist monastery in China.
I covered a lot of ground with a popular bike sharing program in China and this is my favorite method of transportation for street food tour.

Spicy numbing???

I think the numbing is from sheswan pepper corns, or other hot peppers. Sorta like poprocks, as you can see, it's a type of spicy that they like to add, like an extra texture. Not just flavor but they add texture, like bounce, squishy, or tongue-numbing
