Its worth noting that Camden Park takes the cake for having the scariest ride I have ever rode. Their sky ride is a dilapidated junk heap with a rusted out structure, loose and stripped wiring all over, and chairs bouncing along. I will never get on that again, and I need to go back as none of their coasters were open. That is unless you count their dark ride, which I don't.

As a native Arizonan, we are so excited for Mattel to open! Especially now that construction for both coasters is mostly complete. I'm assuming you were using RCDB as your main source for this list. But technically Nevada does have a mountain coaster, up at Heavenly Mountain resort in Lake Tahoe that looks to be one of the most beautiful mountain coasters in the states. RCDB has it in California, but if you look on google maps, the coaster itself is on the Nevada side of the border! 😃
@coaster3655 ай бұрын

Even though I get up to Maine semi-regularly to visit my sister-in-law, I've never gotten around to visiting the two significant amusement parks in the state that are right there, and she just gave me a ticket to Funtown Splashtown for my birthday so I guess I have no excuse not to experience one of the few remaining major coasters in New England that I have not ridden. It occurs to me that just by going to the Saco/Old Orchard Beach area you could knock out 5 of the 6 coasters in the state in one afternoon. (The other one is a Wacky Worm at a zoo, if I recall correctly).

#36 BABBY. It is weird that the Phoenix metro area is one of the biggest / most populated in the country and our newest major coaster is Desert Storm, which is over 30 years old now. At least according to Coasterpedia, it has some of the highest G forces in the world. And I'd believe it. Those loops are tiiiiight. And weeeeeird. ALSO, we're getting a new alpine coaster soon at Sunrise, which is one of our 3 ski resorts. So we'll have 2! :D

An old coworker of mine (whom I haven't seen in a dozen years) just went to Enchanted Forest last week. It was fun learning about those coasters, the dark ride, and walk-through Haunted Mansion when I interacted with that Facebook post. I also had to do some thoosie snooping as she didn't mention the name of the park or rides in said post.

Having grown up in the West (Let’s go Idaho!) I always find it funny how people back East find everything so isolated. I mean they definitely are, but Cliff’s, Silverwood, Lagoon, Glenwood Caverns, etc all seemed to frequently be nearby for family trips and vacations. Did all of those before anything back East cuz that’s way too far lol
@coaster3655 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting perspective that I never really thought of. Were those all drives or flights? I’d imagine a quick weekend flight trip out west is probably the equivalent of a 4-5hr road trip east
@devdevthrills5 ай бұрын
@@coaster365 All drives, I never did flights til I was almost out of high school. I think we are just used to going long ways when you live in the open West. 8:05 that was my comment 😂 I love it lol. Funny enough, the Oregon State Fair has had a permanent Zyklon/Galaxi roller coaster (Arctic Blast) since 2016 and it has only recently been added to RCDB. I believe only 4 fairs in the U.S. currently have permanent coasters and OR and WA are 2 of them!

So I have the New Mexico Rattler credit, the Desperado credit, and Speed credit. New Mexico Rattler needs a retrack bad and that park had some of the worst operations around. Makes Europe checking restraints look good. I found Desperado to be good, but I like the Mamba's, Steel Force's and Magnum's. It isn't on their level but I would put it ahead of Wild Thing. And yes I have the Speed credit from the Sahara. Wish that one was still around.
