Only thing I can say to noobs is don't get nitro and don't get on road car's. Go for a it can Go anywhere vehicle for more options on surfaces to drive on, being limited to where you can use it becomes boring quickly.

Not a Traxxas fan boy by any stretch but I would go Traxxas over Arrma all day. The reason, QC and design choices. Traxxas cars are damn near bulletproof and replacing parts are cheap and readily available. Finding parts for Arrma can be like pulling teeth. It's a nice kit but yeah Traxxas.

Gav - Get yourself a Team Associated Pro4 SC10. They are cheap and soo underrated. You will love it. Just make sure you get proper off road tyres for it

@@grrfy You are comparing a 4WD brushless for double the price with a 2WD brushed car? Of course the 4WD will accelerate way faster and also brake way harder without spinning out. That is a silly comparison.

This is a great idea. I think any of the Boost line would be great for someone just getting into the hobby or someone who would like to get an r/c car to have fun. Th done note of caution I would say is the battery charger that comes with the one with the charger and battery. I have watched more than one review of the Arrma trucks and the included charger and it's painfully slow. I think I would buy a better charger. This would be especially true for young people.They will quickly lose interest if they are constantly waiting for a battery to charge. If you're buying one for kids, buy a better charger and an extra battery.

I'm a noob I've had rtr but I prefer tamiya now as you build it and learn how to fix it and it's easy to upgrade I'm not good at painting but you learn fast with tamiya I feel great video 👍👍👍👍👍

SOLD OUT now. But we have build a Senton Fun Cup with these things on our 1/10 Scale Buggy Race Track. Just added the 4wd Boost Kit, because its not really good with only 2wd. (The new Arrma Fury 2wd will be much better with just 2wd, but cant be upgraded to 4wd)

Oh, you actually don't necessarily have to upgrade out of the Boost 2-in-1 unit immediately. Well, you do if you want to put a different ESC in, but it's designed to be able to take input from another receiver and just act as a conventional ESC. Good on Spektrum for allowing interoperability with other companies' radio equipment instead of locking you into Spektrum radio equipment.

Im club racing mine this summer at our off road track im putting a hobby wing system in it and a new flsysky fs7 gp radio cant wait to hit the track with it this summer. I have the same green and black body as you do as well love the truck its a very good starter truck.

I love my Senton. It was the basic Mega version, and i bashed the hell out of it. Its now been modified, with a brushless system, and massive tyres, and its still a brilliant car, but its no more fun than the basic car!! Its a great platform, and the boost idea is a great idea. 👍🏻

Great video but don't forget the HPI Jumpshot SC V2.0 Flux for around the same money, brushless out of the box with separate ESC and receiver. I don't own one but strongly considering...

Jumpshot is great and actually faster than the Senton at 55 mph. Jumpshot is not as strong as the Senton and a whole lot lighter more of a racer than a basher but so well balanced with that twin vertical plate chassis and she just drifts around the corners on grass like a dream, 2wd super simple easy to maintain.

But it's HPI.....they are not what they were 10 years ago, hell 5 years ago. Parts availability from a LHS is non existent in my area and I live in a very urban area. At HPI's peak, I would definitely buy a kit but not now.

my 5 year old loves his. I made it 4x4 and brushless with a hobbywing max 10. Got a g2 max10 to go in it for him this year just got to find the time to fit it for him. Great trucks and a good alternative to the cheap Chinese stuff with parts and upgrades everywhere you look 👍👌

I'd argue you'd be able to stretch your money out more if you get a mini or micro. Something like an Associated Reflex-14 or a Kyosho Mini Z Buggy. But for a 1/10th scale under $200 this is a good place to start.

So, one other thing I want to note is that if your local track has an "older" style RTR spec SCT chassis, where any brushed, unmodified RTR SCT chassis is allowed, and it's a sealed clay or carpet track, this will actually handle better than the Slash as its mid-motor design will give you more steering than the Slash's rear-motor design.

The Arrma Boost range is awesome but long term people are better off buying the Mega as it comes 3s ready (almost!) All you need is a new ESC and Motor. The reciever is seperate and it already has the "upgrades" as far as the diffs and gearing are concerned. My Nephew's Typhon was the Mega version and I just put a Max 10 Combo in. Now it's a beast and gives my 3s Typhon a run for it's money!!
