Great list, Reggie! Here's mine: Prompts [Jan 2023 to Present] 1. What is your favorite game? For me, this category should be "Favorite game besides Final Girl", to make it fair. With that in mind, I'll say Rolling Heights. 2. What is your most played game? Final Girl. Easily. 3. What was your biggest surprise? Libertalia: Winds of Galecrest. Thought I would like it, but I absolutely LOVE it 4. What has been your biggest disappointment? Mystic Paths. Played it at a game night with 6; board was too crowded, friends did not enjoy it 5. What game do you want to get off of your Shelf of Shame the most? Sleeping Gods 6. Which game from 3+ years ago did you discover this year? Skull King. As good as advertised. 7. Which anticipated releases are you most excited about for the second half of the year? 20 Strong 8. What's your personal favorite video that you’ve posted to your channel? I don't have a channel, but my favorite video was Tim Chuon's Fire and Ice Awards
@rolling.reggie Жыл бұрын
Great answers! Final Girl and Skull King are on my list. But, Libertalia ALMOST won my favorite game spot!!! I am saving it for a different video though.

I still haven't played it, but you've certainly convinced me to give Architects a play when I get a chance. The rule book for Puerto Rico has a number of issues, so if you're looking for an assist, I know a guy with a video that covers the correct information (if that would help). Thanks for the tag - going to try to do a video response for it!

Interesting list. 7 Wonders Architects is a great game for families and we really like it. Maui is okay and we play it, it's a good filler game for us. Cascadia is a mordern classic and is treasured in our collection. Good job Reggie! 🙂❤❤

Big agree! Cascadia is a modern classic.

I was surprised by how much I'm enjoying Challengers. Personally, not Kennerspiel-level for me because it seems so accessible rules-wise. I wonder if this supplants Millennium Blades in terms of booster pack draft simulation (nobody talks about that game anymore anyway, unfortunately).
@rolling.reggie Жыл бұрын
That's how I feel too! Just played again this weekend and adored it. I also agree, it's lighter than what I expect the Kennerspiel to be.

Glad this video popped up on my page. First...Scythe is my number 1 game. Glad to see someone else find it and love it. Then....Puerto Rico, which is in my top 5. I'm glad they fixed the theme, but this game could have the theme completely removed and I'd still love it based on mechanics. Love it. I'd suggest playing it with a bunch of newbies, cause it has the same issue that Scythe has. Anyone with experience playing either game will crush new players. Both are outstanding though. Great video....will now check out your others!

I really appreciate that advice about PR1897! I was able to play Scythe with 3 new folks as well and I def think that lended to us enjoying it more.

Fun video. 😊 Always nice to hear from fans of “Scythe” and “Cascadia”. I’m hoping the “Landmarks” expansion will include some additional scoring cards. “7 Wonders: Architects” is a neat welcoming game. I enjoyed my one play of it belonging to some others. Some friends who are a family of 7 asked me for game ideas for groups of at least 7. Of course, that came to mind. I found a lightly used copy for a very good price and sent it to them as a gift along with “”Just One”!

So I changed some of the questions to fit our dynamic, but here are the questions I asked my boyfriend that I based on this video (with my responses): - Favorite game so far: Quacks of Quedlinburg - Favorite play so far: Quacks of Quedlinburg while in LV for Dice Tower West - Biggest surprise game: Brass Birmingham (so not my type of game but really enjoyed it) - Biggest game disappointment: Kingdom Builder (soooooo boring) - Top game to get off "shelf of shame" and to the table: Baseball Highlights 2045, Copenhagen, and Three Sisters - Upcoming game anticipation (rest of 2023 - early 2024): Point City and Shipwrights Redux - Next game accessory purchase: Playing mat (my tablecloth on my dining room table is black and white plaid...it's a struggle to play on sometimes!)
@rolling.reggie Жыл бұрын
Thank you for typing all of these out! I need to give Quacks another chance, I have only played it once and was disappointed, but EVERYONE loves it. Big agree on Point City and buying a playing mat. Also, Copenhagen is a solid game, I think you’ll enjoy.

1. My favorite game this year is Combat Commander. 2. My Most Played is Verdant. 3. My biggest surprise was Spicy. 4. My biggest disappointment was Chai 2 player Version (the Kickstarter is dead and won’t ever be fulfilled)5. Shelf opportunity is Inferno. Discovery was Maria (played with David Thompson and Rodney at Origins). My shout out is to Fit To Print and Witchcraft!.

I gotta try Verdant! My wife is obsessed with house plants lol. ALso, Chai TEa for 2 was my second biggest disappointment unfortunately. I almost picked it, but I did not buy a copy so it stung a little less.

Rodney sent me here, and I was pleasantly surprised to this channel. You have my sub! Appreciate your thoughts! Scythe and Marvel Champions are my most-played games, Cascadia is always a hit with my playgroup too. Have a different opinion on Challengers, but I can see why some people would like it. For Puerto Rico, I didn't know they revised it. I am Filipino and always found the Spanish colonial theme problematic so I skipped out on it, but now I just might give it a try. Thanks for telling me about it!

I am so grateful Rodney sent you my way! That's why I love this hobby, we can align for three of my favorite games (Scythe, MC, and Cascadia) but Challengers doesn't hit for you. P.S. Favorite of the year: Legacy of Yu Most played: Undaunted Normandy Biggest disappointment: Masters of the Universe Biggest surprise: Legacy of Yu- I did not expect a this game to be so fun and thinky. I am primarily a solo player and this one was not one I thought I would like but it is awesome. Shelf of opportunity: Frosthaven and Warhammer 40k 10th- I got the Levitation box and can’t wait to actually play it. Best Discovery- Oink Games- Undersea Adventure, Scout and Start Up’s have all been hits for me this year. Anticipated Release of the Year: Expeditions from Stonemaier But I am going to Gencon so I am sure there will be a hype train for me to jump on there.

Great video, have subscribed. I hadn't heard about the upcoming Cascadia landmarks expansion so thanks, I'll be on a look out for that. My list: Favourite: Can't decide, its between Sea of Legends, Beast or Darwin's Journey. Most played: Dead and Breakfast (the one game my girlfriend is guaranteed to play) Biggest surprise: How replayable Dead and Breakfast is! Biggest disappointment: Damask - great game but component colour issues, in less than perfect lighting its impossible to tell two of the colours apart and in a game all about colour that's unforgivable Shelf of Opportunity : Bonfire has been sitting on my shelf for over a year now... Anticipated releases: Expeditions, the "sequel" to Scythe
