You are supposed to dip the fish part in the soya sauce and not the other way around, but its usually easier to dip the rice in it.

well traditionally u r supposed to dip the fish, but not much catches on, rice can really absorb it if u like gud dose of soy like me. also it difficult to flip suhi with chop sticks. also it was adviced i think was to stop the rice from falling after getting wet.

Yes dipping the rice makes it fall apart and Sushi is a finger food. Rarely ever see people using chopsticks eating Sushi in Japan. Mostly just tourists when locals use their hands.

I was taught that dipping the rice in soy sauce would/could make it fall apart so dip the fish.

9:17 unless I am misunderstanding something specific to Salmon, everything you said was the opposite of what is deemed appropriate by sushi chefs regarding soy. You are meant to dip the fish in the sushi, so it does not become a clump of sodium that keeps you from tasting the fish.

Hi Mergim, that looked very yummy, have you ever been to the Robot Restaurant in Bangkok? Its great fun there, set meal buffet order what you want, i pad at the table to order like there but a 7 foot Japanese robot delivers your dishes and also removes the empty plates, its worth a visit. Fresh sushi is a massive myth. The best sushi chefs in the world would never use fresh fish. Have to have it frozen and thawed to give it firmness, especially tuna.
