Super great tip for that ChatterBait by threading it on sideways. Overall I really liked your video and your plan for the pre-span period. Thanks for showing us your secrets. You really bring some great passion to the bass fishing world and inspire a lot of people including me. Thanks IKE 👍🎣

Here in GA it jumped 10 degrees in a week. Small lake I fish was 58 degrees two weeks ago now is 70 degrees when I pulled my kayak out. One of the larger and deeper lakes was 57 max last week and in the mid 60’s this week. The smaller, shallower lake had a lot of action going on today. Bass busting bait fish consistently until 12:30 today. Absolutely crazy. Caught a lot of pale colored fish more shallow today

I don’t know if it’s because Ike is from the Northeast like I am or his ability to identify with the everyday bass guy? But I get so much more out of his lessons than any other pro I’ve listened to! Also his tips and tactics seem to resonate with the tournament Kayak fisherman more than others! Nice job Ike!

That’s good news . I hate early ice out conditions but this year Hoping for better results . Generally don’t catch bass till mid may but I will be trying harder this year lipless baits , jerk baits and red crank baits .

What I do during blade bait season I will work the lipless like a jerkbait and I catch a lot of bass on that technique

Fellow SJ angler. Loved the video. My # 1 is a jerkbait but, I've started to play with the lipless. Caught a few over the Winter with it but, shallow(3-6 feet) water makes it tough to play. Lost one yo-yoing it, landed on a stump or laydown doing that. Just broke out the chatterbait and haven't had much luck with the red square bill. Was a tougggggggh Winter here in NJ. Looking forward to a little jerkbait bite before moving on to spawn and post spawn baits!

Worst thing about spring time is when they are off you are gonna work all day to catch one fish, but the best part is when they are on you are not gonna be able to keep them out of the boat.

@@Maykrel hey bud! If I had to guess I’d say the water temp was low 40’s? I had sustained winds today beating me up. And unfortunately I was skunked. I used underspins, lipless cranks, jerkbaits , swim baits and even a jig. That’s fishing tho !
@Maykrel3 жыл бұрын
@@trp3508 very deep lake 15-30ft in most spots. My best luck came along the 295 bank (gravel bottom) jigs/ned rig, and that little cove back there is a spawning flat.

Can you make a video regarding using opposite lures with opposite rod types? I am a habitual spinnerbait user and I've never owned a different ride type besides baitcasting. It's just what I know, now my older brother has got me into using an open face and boy is it tough! How do you feel about non corresponding lures with their poles? Thank you

Keep the fire coming. Congratulations on 150k after a couple years of watching the you tube fishing game. It’s good to see a pro, some of these clowns have no idea what’s going on. It’s good to watch someone who I genuinely knows what’s going on. I bought the Heshis I’ll never go fishing without my lucky Ike socks, Got the book first book my wife saw me read in our 20 years. Looking into the beanie with the lamp cuz how could you catch a Walleye at night without one.

Hey Mike thanks for the video,for this early pre spawn why not go a little more subtle with a swim jig instead of the vibrating jig? Especially in clear water and use the vibrating jig in a little more stained water ?

I’m sure you’ve answered this question before, but do you get rid of jerkbaits completely when it comes to summer time?
@robertbrost77773 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of people do. It is intended to imitate a dying bait fish and, that's just not all that natural come Summer. Hope this helps.

Tip: be gentle with those DTs. You can’t slap a balsa bait on the water like a plastic one. Unless you like throwing $7 away. Great bait though if you’re gentle with it.
