This game is seriously so good! I think I missed a bunch of the side quests on my playthrough too. I still am not sure how to even unlock them or how I missed them so I'd love to hear all the quest info!

On the topic of camp support and how they are done. I think an understated benefit of decoupling supports from combat and having them be only based on camp interaction is that you don't come back from a battle and have a huge wave of supports unlocked that bring the pacing of the game to a halt. 3 houses in particular made this noticable. And there you felt you needed to get them all done at once because they provide pretty helpful (especially hit on maddening) bonuses for the next map. Regarding stat variation among units. That's a huge bummer for me. It made certain units too interchangeable. Since there are parts of the game where some units become unavailable it inventives you to just not use them at all since they don't bring anything to the table that sets them apart from someone else. There are some really helpful compilations of community findings over on the steam page that are handy. I've been adding some things there but want to make a post when I get to the last chapter of everyone's lv 50 base stats without skills or equipment so we have some tangible data to work with. Best of luck with everything and congrats on being a new dad. I was in a similar position myself last year. The joy they bring is hard to articulate and can only really be experienced!

Yeah that's a very good point! For 3H it was definitely too much of a wave of supports that made me just skip all of them except maybe 1 character I liked. But then I never grew to like other characters because I always skipped them. So yeah I really enjoy the camp in this game! I agree totally on the stat variations. I am really interested if the lvl 50 stats are consistent between playthroughs. I'm going to check once I finish my current playthrough if there's any randomness to people's stats between runs. And yeah I've been checking out the steam community guides. There's a ton of stuff I didn't know about already! I never got the Unique Bow my first playthrough so I really want to check that out. And thanks! Being a dad is amazing. We're so excited to see our kids together. It'll probably be in about 2 or 3 days from now, so that'll probably keep me from posting videos for a second ha.

I agree with all you said here! I am surprised to see many other reviewers crap on the camp. Then in the same breath they say the characters are narrow and predictable. Clearly, they didn't do every single side quest and even every dialogue available. Because there is a LOT of characterization put into those. I am sure I spent more time in the camps than fighting. I love how it has tiny moments of their lives, their past, their thoughts on the moment or past events. Also, what a great storyI

Yeah, I think after 300+ hours in Fire Emblem Three Houses, I really appreciate the camp in this game. I didn't feel like I was missing out on gameplay bonuses by not doing everything in camp, which is my least favorite thing about the Monastery. The camp is really for people of culture like you who enjoy getting to know the characters!

Also having a great time with the game and so close to beating it!! You should try it in hard-maniac in your next playthrough...it gets really intense! I will say that there are *some* differences in characters in battle since some have character skills that don't exist with other characters (afaik). For example, there is a certain character that has a special ranged attack that can mute spellcasters called "Muted Arrow". I believe she's the only one with this skill. But yeah, in general, stats are pretty same-ey, but at least some characters have some unique active skills.

Yeah I really want to make a list of the character unique stuff because a few of them seem actually really strong! I'll have to check out the muted arrow ability! And yeah I normally only play maniac in these games and I enjoy hard a lot! I think I'll do normal for repeat playthroughs but it's definitely worth playing hard at least once!

I just got the game and I kinda sinked into it, played like 8 or 9 chapters in one standing. I kinda agree with all you said in your video but I also think that you should say something about voice acting. These guys really did awesome job and I just love hearing this grandma mage guy or bratty ladies ordering MC around xD
@lolfroob66652 жыл бұрын
That's so true! I generally go through dialogue pretty quickly by reading and don't listen to the full voice lines so I hadn't thought to include that, but they absolutely nailed the voice acting! Very talented cast of people.

Game was amazing, need Switch release though 👌🏾 also the camp menu needs some polish.
@lolfroob66652 жыл бұрын
For real, I would play like crazy on portable Switch! My low budget gaming laptop struggles with this game already though, so I don't know how Switch would handle it. Yeah, the menu feels not great with controller, I basically just mouse for camp menus and then use controller for regular gameplay. But I still love the camp overall even with the bad UI.

The story is overall really good but the dialogue can be pretty cheesy and there is a massive amount of it. Agree that the boss mechanic doesn't make sense and is just an arbitrary way to compensate for AI and artificially enhance difficulty. The last mission is also a pain.

Yeah not my favorite final map for a tactics game but I did really like that it was very different being a chase. I was really sick of killing the same mini bosses for the tenth time too. But I think the final boss was actually pretty well done and very intense!

Any chance for an iron man run?
@lolfroob66652 жыл бұрын
I would have a ton of fun iron manning this game! I've never tried streaming before, which I feel like is best for iron man runs. But if people are actually interested I would do it. I am pretty new so don't have a big audience to watch streams probably.
