Underrated strategy for sure! I used that quite a bit when I was training in Japan. FHL negated a lot of the gi gripping strategies against judokas. I used gator rolls, uke waza and sumi gaeshi, mostly. I'll add the snap to the arsenal.

The snap was the first legit takedown / entry skill I ever learned from HS wrestling. Combined with all the others you mentioned, and you have a powerful system.
