In today's video, I am going to be sharing with you five of the most amazing small-group team-building activities for you to consider.
00:00 Intro
00:24 Human Knot
01:07 Blind Retriever
01:44 Perfect Square
02:22 Pair Up
03:08 Stop-Walk
First up is Human Knot. Human Knot is a great game to work on teamwork and problem-solving. It requires good leadership and cooperation. So here's how to play.
Players must stand in a circle facing inwards and reach out their right hand to join hands with someone opposite them. Players should not join hands with anyone immediately to their left or right. Next, players will do the same thing with their left hand, joining hands with a new partner.
The goal is to unravel the knot without releasing each other's hands so that players finish once again in a perfect circle with their hands joined. In order to do this, players must communicate while turning, twisting, and passing through each other's arms.
Next up is Blind Retriever, an excellent game for improving communication and getting everyone laughing.
To play Blind Retriever, separate players into teams and have them stand together behind a starting line. One member of each team must put a blindfold on while somebody else hides a random object somewhere in the room.
After hearing "Go!" teams must guide their blindfolded player to the random object before the opposing team does first. Players issuing instructions can only do so verbally and can not pass the start line. The first blindfolded player to get their hands on the random object wins!
Then we have Perfect Square. This game encourages employees to work together as a team, using verbal communication to turn a length of string into a perfect square, all while blindfolded.
To begin, blindfold each player and have them form a circle facing inwards. Once the circle has been created, the players should lay the rope on the ground and take a few steps back.
Now the game begins. Players must attempt to move the rope into a perfect square on the ground. In order to do this, players should assign a leader who will guide their peers using only their voice. Set a timer for a little extra pressure!
Our fourth game is Pair Up, a fun group activity that encourages employees to ask questions about the names written on their backs. It's a great game to build up energy at the beginning of your team-building event.
To play, write down several 'famous pairs' on individual sticky notes. The pairs could be anything from salt and pepper to king and queen. Once you have your pairings, stick one sticky note on the back of each player. Then, set a timer for 20 minutes and have players start asking questions to try to figure out who or what is written on their back. Once players have discovered who or what they are, their goal is to find their 'matching' pair. For example, 'salt' must pair with 'pepper' and so on. The first pair to find their correct match is the winner!
And finally, we have Stop-Walk. This is a great game to get your team feeling energized. It's a simple variation of the game Simon Says and requires strong listening skills and quick thinking to win.
To play Stop-Walk, scatter your team evenly throughout the room and assign one leader who will be shouting commands.
To start the game, introduce the first two actions: walk and stop. When the leader shouts "walk," players must start walking aimlessly around the room. When the leader says "stop," players must stop where they are.
After practicing this a few times, the leader will reverse the meaning of the two words. In other words, "stop" now means "walk," and "walk" now means "stop". When a player performs a wrong action, they are eliminated from the game. Keep playing like this until you have a winner, or make the game more challenging by adding more actions like clapping, jumping, sitting, or dancing. Then reverse their meanings too!
And there you have it! Five simple team-building activities for you to try at your next event. Try them out, and let us know your favourite in the comments! And if you liked this video, don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more videos just like this one.

Pair up game: Players roam the room, asking others yes/no questions to deduce their assigned identities. If a player's identity is the King character, they might ask: "Am I human?" "Am I royalty?", or "Do I appear in films?"

I agree, that's my favorite team-building game too. It's amusing when you switch the meanings of the two words after a while. :-D
