One thing I like to look for is an exit strategy. In other words, which themes consistantly sell so that if things go sideways I can get out of my investment without taking a loss. I find Star Wars is a great choice. Sure, I may not get the investment I hoped for, but I can recover my investment in case I need to move quickly on a new opportunity. In other words, potential liquidity of a set.

space is also important. the colosseum is good, but can you store 20-30?

ive been considering Star wars cause its something I love since I was a kid. and the lego sets seem to sell really well after retirement. even the smaller sets especially the clone wars stuff!! ive been doing a little reasearch on the star wars lego sets in the past 6 months but I havent invested yet. I just joined your group yesterday so after I get back from my vacation Im hoping to look more into lego investing!!

Starting out this year, it was pretty difficult for me to hone in on themes I wanted to focus on, but I think I've got it pretty well narrowed down for myself at this point. However, I will say that it's not a horrible idea to occasionally dabble in things you are less familiar with but you know will be in shorter supply, like exclusives. Like I am personally not too keen on Star Wars for a number of reasons, (very mass-produced, lots of gray and black pieces in most sets, not as familiar with characters as other hardcore fans, etc.) but I rarely pass up good sales on exclusives. Same goes for Harry Potter, even though I'm not really into it for similar reasons. Like am I going to pass up an opportunity to stock up on Vader helmets at $30 each just because I don't really know a lot about most Star Wars stuff past the original trilogy? Absolutely not. I do completely agree that it's important to figure out what you want to start stacking SKUs of, because more copies of the same thing results in more cash being tied up. But I also feel it's really important to not go about your business wearing blinders when it comes to good sudden opportunities.

Great videos! Odd question... are you showcasing the HP first Flying Lesson for a reason or just part of the setup. Just curious and not being cheeky
@BrickBucks11 ай бұрын
nope no reason, was just the first set I saw when I went to my storage to find some sets to place next to me :D

You should do a video on some of your worst ROI's and how you dealt with them. I noticed in some of your older videos that you had an Icons treehouse in the background, did you liquidate those at a loss and put your money into something else? Or are you still holding onto them?

Hey great video, just wondering if you think that all of the sets out of stock on the lego website are going to stay that way forever or is this just the initial sale before the one at the end of december?
@wolfheadedconjuror10 ай бұрын
Out of stock means it will come back, while sold out means the set is finished

Need opinions. Should I buy the hulk buster at 18% discount from Lego store?
@benjamingamer762910 ай бұрын
Could be an solid deal. Little supply, good display piece, hard to assemble with lose parts. At an discount you could even sell under MSRP w/o a loss

Lol. People asking what to invest in Lego is already heading for disaster!!
